Former Sydney jockey Tim Clark got off the mark on Wednesday night with his first winner since he joined the Hong Kong riding ranks this season.
Clark took out the opening race at Happy Valley on the Richard Gibson-trained Easy Gold who scored an upset win in a 1650m Class Five.
“It’s just great to get the monkey off my back,” Clark told the South China Morning Post.
“I think I’ve ridden well, I just haven’t had many chances so I wasn’t losing confidence.”
The Hong Kong season began earlier this month.
Clark had a fine season in Sydney in 2010/11 finishing third in the jockeys’ premiership and claiming a Group One double on Doncaster day at Randwick including the feature event on Sacred Choice.
