Jockey Dylan Kitts has been penalised with a disciplinary officer exclusion directive due to non-compliance with an inquiry regarding his performance on Hillsin in July of the previous year.
Kitts rode the Chris Honour-trained gelding in a two-and-a-half-mile conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle and positioned well during the final stretch. However, despite his efforts, the then five-year-old finished third, trailing by a length and a half. Subsequent to an investigation, the race stewards forwarded Kitts’ case to the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and suspended Hillsin from racing for 40 days.
The disciplinary officer exclusion directive is issued “when an individual’s presence on BHA-licensed premises or association with racing’s affiliates is deemed detrimental to the sport’s integrity due to their actions”.
The official statement declared: “The BHA hereby confirms that Mr. Dylan Kitts has been subjected to a disciplinary officer exclusion directive for his failure to cooperate with an inquiry.
“This directive prohibits Mr. Kitts from accessing BHA-licensed premises and/or interacting with racing’s affiliates. It has been imposed as a consequence of Mr. Kitts’ refusal to furnish pertinent information requested by the BHA’s integrity team during an ongoing investigation.
“The investigation remains active, and the BHA refrains from further comment at this juncture.”
