Caulfield Guineas Information

The Caulfield Guineas is a Group l race and is the major three year old race of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. It is held at Caulfield racecourse each year over 1600m and is a great race for future sires.

The race is at Group l level and boasts a total prize pool of $1 Million and is at Set Weights for three year olds.

The 2017 Caulfield Guineas will be run on Saturday the 14th of October, 2017 at Caulfield racecourse.

The Caulfield Guineas is the race known as shaping a horses career, with champion subsequent sires saluting in the race.

The obvious lead up race is the Prelude over 1400m, with seven winners since the turn of the century winning the Guineas after coming through the Prelude.
