Robert Sangster Stakes Information

The Robert Sangster Stakes which is also referred to as the UBET Classic is the lone Group l sprint race in Australia for fillies and mares only. It is held at Morphettville racecourse each year over 1200m and is a highlight of ‘Super Saturday’.

The race is at Group l level and boasts a total prize pool of $1,000,000 and is at WFA for fillies and mares.

The 2019Β Robert Sangster Stakes will be run on Saturday the 4th of May, 2019Β at Morphettville racecourse.

The Robert Sangster Stakes is well placed on the calendar given it allows horses who have contested the Sydney Championships to have a second crack at Group l glory.

Barriers don’t mean that much in this race in recent years. In the last ten years, horses drawn a double digit barrier have won on six occasions.
