The track has had some unbelievably positive feedback from all concerned, now the Randwick Kensington track is being rewarded with an eight race card this Saturday.

Race One: Tab Rewards Plate 1000m Form Guide

Back Me: Bit surprised to see there is $9 on offer for Had Me At Hello. I thought she was the pick of the trial runners from November 12 at Rosehill, where she won her trial nicely and wasn’t pressured, while the likes of Occitan and Ming were ridden along to hold their spot in their respective trial performances. Had the track had some give in it, I’d be alot more confident, but she can still win on a firm surface.
Big Danger: Stephansdom is the Darley horse not wanted at all in betting, with all the money for Occitan, but I thought the former trialled nicely earlier in the month. Drawn a gun barrier for Bowman…hard to beat.
Roughie: Mavericks was the real eye catcher in the Earthquake race, running on strongly between runners after settling a long way back in the run. Nash takes over now and drawn the paint.

Race Two: Macgrath Estate Agents Handicap (73) 1550m Form Guide

Back Me: Pretty keen on Sinjoren for Darley. Broke his maiden status two back at Kembla, beating home Tenacitus, who appears well above average and bolted in at his next. Sinjoren did much the same at his following start also, at Newcastle, and ran good time with the big weight. He has race experience and a touch of toughness.
Big Danger: Made To Order is a nice horse in the making. Loved his debut run, where he got back and attacked the line. He then made sure there were no hard luck stories with a dominant win under the guidance of Nash. Only query with him is whether or not he is tough enough to step up immediately to city level. $2 seems unders.
Roughie: Oxford Poet is the sneaky runner here. Didn’t mind his maiden at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day, where he led and found plenty under pressure. He should get a very comfortable lead here, and given that, $13 seems good odds.

Race Three: Myer Spring Fashion Handicap (78) 2400m Form Guide

Back Me: Chris Waller will win the race…it’s just a matter of which one. The money trail suggests Wind Bender, so based on that, we’ll put her on top. Didn’t quite run out the 2600m on Melbourne Cup Day so the drop back in distance is a big tick, as is a senior rider who knows the mare well, Tommy Berry.
Big Danger: Instrumentalist battled on very gamely when second to Praecido at Warwick Farm. A combination of a wet track and 61kg were against the horse there, so I think on a bigger track, firmer surface, with less weight, should spark improvement.
Roughie: Nothing wrong with the last two starts and wins of Jarliee. She has been very strong at the end of the races, so distance is no issue, and loves it dry…$6.50 is an attractive price.

Race Four: Sydney City Toyota Handicap (73) 1300m Form Guide

Back Me: Miniature for us. Did what he pleased first up at Gosford (runner up won at his next start), then did enough to hold off a handy field at Warwick Farm. The second horse in that race came out and bolted in at Canterbury on Wednesday, so the form around him is outstanding. In terms of betting for this race, be careful because Made To Order is also accepted for an earlier race, so deductions could come into play.
Big Danger: Mamwaazel got back in a very slowly run race dominated by Calming Influence and had no winning chance after a furlong, but she did hit the line nicely, suggesting she can be a force with a more genuine tempo in the race, which she should get here.
Roughie: Fast Grass had trialled really nicely behind Miniature prior to her disappointing first up run at Goulburn. But that wasn’t a bad maiden given the second horse War Jet came out and won on Friday at Hawkesbury. Give her another chance, especially with some give in the ground.

Race Five: Time Thief @ Darley Handicap (83) 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Best bet across Australia here in Terravista. $2.60 was a juicy price and he has been crunched into $2.20 and could nearly start odds on. Dominant win first up over the 1000m at this track, then went to Randwick and was probably gassed by the hot speed in front, which is probably why he got very tired late. With a more quiet ride, with cover, he’ll blow these away.
Big Danger: Really keen to see how former Queensland horse Longshoreman goes here. Had his first run for Tony McEvoy at Morphettville Parks and was fantastic, being one of the only horses to make up ground when a close up second. Sure, the form doesn’t read well for a race like this, but against the pattern, he was immediately in the blackbook.
Roughie: Babel was caught three with no cover on the speed first up at Rosehill and faded late when ninth to That’s A Good Idea, the most improved horse in Sydney behind Arinosa. With a smother up behind runners, he can fill a first four place at odds.

Race Six: Next Racehorse @ Inglis Handicap (85) 1550m Form Guide

Back Me: Most intriguing race on the card here with several likely types engaged. I’m prepared to take on Index Linked, because I think he might be at the end of his campaign. The up and comer is clearly Any Day Will Do, who bolted in on Melbourne Cup Day thanks to a clever ride by Blake Shinn. Coming back slightly in distance should suit and he appears as if he’ll get a cheap run outside the leader, who we think is the big danger.
Big Danger: Solemn was given the snip after the Autumn and it appears as though it has really switched him on based on his excellent first up run at Rosehill. Remember, this time last year he was racing against the likes of Pierro and It’s A Dundeel and wasn’t disgracing himself. Massive threat.
Roughie: Letchworth is a grand campaigner, and he is starting to his straps now that he has had three runs back from a spell. Liked his run last week against She’s A Girl, who is above average. Throw this one in exotics.

Race Seven: Coolmore Australia Handicap 1150m Form Guide

Back Me: Kristy Lee was first up since August when she ran a credible fourth in early November to boom mare White Sage, who continued her winning ways last Saturday. Kristy Lee was the only horse to make up ground in that race, which was hard to do at that meeting, so keep an eye out for her.
Big Danger: Berrimilla generally needs a run or two under her belt before she shows her best, but I liked the way she trialled plus she has been scratched from the Valley for this and Nash rides. Quick’s The Word will be leading this comfortably, and with a drop in weight, she can keep on for a place and don’t rule out My Sabeel. He trialled like a star prior to his first up run where he was never in the race. Chuck him in exotics.
Roughie: Quick’s The Word will be leading this comfortably, and with a drop in weight, she can keep on for a place and don’t rule out My Sabeel. He trialled like a star prior to his first up run where he was never in the race. Chuck him in exotics.

Race Eight: Tab iPhone App Handicap (85) 1150m Form Guide

Back Me: Putting Territory on top. Only had the two runs last time in, but both were excellent performances. First up ran third at Hawkesbury to stakes winner Agister, then was unlucky behind Disciple, a handy horse for Chris Waller. Has trialled very nicely for this and I’m happy to take the $8.
Big Danger: Field Marshall toyed with them last time out at Randwick on the course proper, aided by a gem from Jim Cassidy. He has loads of ability, but sometimes his racing manners beat him. No doubt he is a stakes class horse, and if that assessment is correct, then he should go mighty close to beating these.
Roughie: Forarainyday trialled behind Territory and wasn’t asked to do much at all, finishing fifth. She was accepted for a race during the Cup Carnival, but was scratched. She must have been going well for the stable to send her south first up. Keep an eye on betting.
