South Australia has a number of feature race meetings throughout the year with the Adelaide Racing Carnival being the highlight.
The Adelaide Racing Carnival is held from March through to May each year and takes place at Morphettville racecourse.
There are a total of four Group One races held throughout the year in South Australia with the Group 1 Goodwood being the most prestigious of them all.
The Goodwood is worth a total of $1,000,000 in prize money making it the equal most lucrative race in South Australia.
The other million dollar race in Adelaide is the Robert Sangster Stakes, a weight-for-age race run over 1200m.
