11/4/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Randwick, Queen Elizabeth Stakes day

A bumper ten event program has been set down for Randwick this Saturday for Day two of The Championships, headlined by the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m). The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

3 Diameter (Bet Now: $6.50) was pretty good in the Baillieu I thought. Pattern was against him but he kept chasing and was far from disgraced in defeat I thought. Like the rise to the mile for him, bigger track and gets J Mac aboard.

5 Stitzer (Bet Now: $6.00) should appreciate getting to the mile after debuting over 1400m in the Baillieu where he got back to near last in the run and was solid late without threatening. Better for the run and rising in trip, he’s a knockout hope.

11 Universe (Bet Now: $5.00) should like getting to the mile after racing over 1350m at Wyong where he didn’t seem 100% around the tight track but kept chasing and was far from disgraced. Like him up in trip and has that Waller polish.

4 Regal Award (Bet Now: $1.90) should appreciate getting to 1400m after resuming over 1200m three weeks ago in the Darby Munro where he just found them a bit sharp but kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, he commands respect.

7 Options (Bet Now: $31.00) is a very interesting runner. Team McEvoy trained three year old that resumes, I dare say with eyes on the Queensland Derby. He hasn’t raced since the Victoria Derby when down the track behind Observer but looks to have jumped out well and will be strong late.

8 Mareth (Bet Now: $12.00) wasn’t too bad in the Darby Munro I thought, getting back to bear last in the run but worked home really well without threatening. Maps to settle closer, she’s dangerous.

7 Rachini (Bet Now: $8.00) is very dangerous here. I thought she ran a beauty in the Sires last Saturday when on speed and tried hard but the end of 1400m at that level just found her out late. I think back to 1200m and back to Fillies grade, with that hard run under the belt, gee I think she’ll run a beauty.

2 Satono Glow (Bet Now: $5.00) comes back to Sydney for Tom Charlton after an impressive win two weeks ago at Flemington down the straight, getting better as the race went on and was impressive in the run to the line. Good test here but think she can measure up.

3 Lumbini (Bet Now: $18.00) is four weeks between runs since racing in the Magic Night, trying to get into the Slipper, but didn’t fire a shot behind Pembrey. Tick over trial was pretty good and if she brings her best, she is dangerous.

6 Buffalo (Bet Now: $8.50) is the best horse in the race IMO if he’s here to play, which you can only assume he is. He hasn’t raced since his Qualifier win at Newcastle on Feb 28, driving hard late from off speed when lifted by Bullock to get the job done. Kept on ice for this, he’ll be strong late and has class.

5 Matcha Latte (Bet Now: $3.90) is five weeks between runs since a Qualifier win at Hawkesbury, leading throughout where he looked a moral in the run and duly saluted. Liked his recent tick over trial, he’ll land on speed and be hard to get past.

10 Oakfield Jupiter (Bet Now: $11.00) has been freshened up since running second to Buffalo in the Feb 28 Qualifier at Newcastle. She had a beaut run in transit and was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there in a driving go. Tick over trial was strong, she’s a knockout hope.

1 Ohope Wins (Bet Now: $2.60) has to be given another chance. I thought she was a total forgive in the Vinery given she was fresh, back, forced out in the wider/inferior lanes and was never really likely but was still far from disgraced. Like her up to 2400m, fitter and if there is petrol in the tank, she’s clearly top seed.

3 Profoundly (Bet Now: $3.20) was a super winner of the Adrian Knox, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance, letting down with real purpose late to score. She gives every impression of eating up 2400m and is a clear threat.

I am not dismissing 4 Soverato (Bet Now: $7.00). She was several weeks between and coming off a soft 1500m run into the 2000m of the Adrian Knox. She loomed to win and hit the front but just felt the pinch late. That run should bring her right on and she has to be an each way speck.

Hard to get away from 9 Tempted (Bet Now: $1.65). She has been kept on ice since the Surround when just seeing out the 1400m in wearing down Savvy Hallie right on the peg to score. Freshened up for this race, loved the way she moved in a recent trial…I think good luck beating her.

If you listened/read Kelly Schweida quotes, you wouldn’t have taken double figures 3 Grafterburners (Bet Now: $8.00) in The Galaxy. Interrupted prep and unfortunately he was scratched behind the barriers. Back home, trialled super and seems to have had a better grounding here. Commands respect.

The more you watch the replay of the Darby Munro, the more I convince myself that 10 Caffe Florian (Bet Now: $13.00) goes close with clean air. She was back near last and held up but got clear air in the inferior ground and was really good late when third. If she gets room to move and is within range, she’ll take holding out.

8 Piggyback (Bet Now: $15.00) looks a great each way gamble IMO. First look at WFA last time out in the Tancred, clearly outclassed, clearly poorly weighted, but I thought she ran out of her skin in defeat behind Aeliana. Back to a handicap, 3200m should be fine and she brings the A1 form. Quite keen on her prospects.

I think you have to give serious respect to 11 Mr Monaco (Bet Now: $5.50) after his Manion Cup triumph because he did it sitting wide no cover the entire 2400m yet was too good. Plus, that form stood up in the Chairmans last weekend. He has to be rated as a leading contender.

12 Machine Gun Gracie (Bet Now: $7.00) is a threat. She gapped them in the Epona…them being an ordinary bunch IMO but she was dominant and she has always shown staying prowess. Keen to see how she goes at the two miles and has to be respected.

2 Lady Shenandoah (Bet Now: $3.50) is three weeks between runs since contesting the George Ryder when in the inferior lanes and kept chasing in a really good effort in defeat behind Autumn Glow. Back to Mares grade, she has the runs on the board and is one of the hardest to beat.

8 Idle Flyer (Bet Now: $6.00) comes here with that sense of timing after an arrogant win in the Emancipation where the late market push said she was a moral and duly saluted under a confident steer from Zac Lloyd. Has good upside/progression and looks clearly set for the race.

9 Melody Again (Bet Now: $46.00) is flying for Scott Singleton and is one of the hardest to beat. She was unlucky I thought in the Coolmore Classic, getting back off speed and was held up at times but did get clear very late when a close up fourth to Lazzura. Hard fit, tick over trial was super…she has to be specked at a price.

7 Autumn Glow (Bet Now: $1.35), I think, will remind the racing world that as good as Sheza Alibi was in the Doncaster, she is still top dog. How quick some forget her George Ryder win…it was breathtaking in its own right and she made a mess of them, a proper mess of them. She’ll eat up 2000m, track should be perfect…just like we saw something special with Sheza Alibi, we’ll see it with Baby Winx.

4 Lindermann (Bet Now: $26.00) will jump on the bunny and give his all, as seen in the Ranvet where he made Aeolian work for the win in.a great finish. Looks the leader and will give an almighty sight.

1 Dubai Honour (Bet Now: $7.50) should only run well. He was given a 12/10 by Marquand in the Tancred and was hailed as the winner when booting clear but just had no answers late for the finale of Aeliana. Back to 2000m is fine, proven big time performer in this race and will be out of trouble on speed.

6 Flying For Fun (Bet Now: $3.60) has been freshened up since the Maurice McCarten when given a 12/10 by Zac Lloyd and drove hard late to finish best. Loved the way she went in a tick over trial and the rise to 1200m, back to Mares grade, she ticks so many boxes.

3 Gangsta Granny (Bet Now: $2.05) ran a game second in the Star Kingdom two weeks back at Rosehill. She did early work from the wide gate to land on speed and she tried her guts out but just found on better in Roselyn’s Star, who found the better lanes and finished best. Commands respect now she’s hard fit.

5 In Flight (Bet Now: $14.00) was close up in The Galaxy behind Marhoona. She was in a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Back to Mares and rising to 1200m, I say she’s in the mix.

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 7 Rachini

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 8 Piggyback
