Caulfield will conduct a nine event meeting on Sunday for Bletchingly Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is out ten metres for the entire circuit.

3 Custom (Bet Now: $2.35) is several weeks between runs since resuming at this trip, driving hard from off speed and in a blanket finish, just missed when second to stablemate Afterberna. Fitter, she’ll be strong late and has class on her side.

1 Takeko (Bet Now: $5.50) is four weeks between runs since racing over 1100m here when first up, sitting on speed and tried hard but tired late behind impressive winner Luna Cat. Fitter, lands on speed and will be hard to get past.

10 Happy Link (Bet Now: $16.00) has been pretty good in two runs back from a spell. Spanked them fresh at Pakenham Synthetic before going to Sandown where she got too far back but was good late behind Tennessee Bound. If she can use the gate and settle closer, she’s around the mark here.

1 Ghana’s Akan (Bet Now: $3.80) looks a quality filly that I think can resume a winner. Her last run came in the Blue Diamond where she got off speed and had her chance but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Streisand. Jumpouts have been strong and has class on her side,

8 Resolutely (Bet Now: $3.40) was good in defeat when resuming over 1200m at Flemington behind Stars Of Dom. She kept chasing but was safely held bu the impressive winner and stablemate. Fitter, Williams on, she appeals.

5 Brazen Dechambeau (Bet Now: $11.00) is a Price/Kent trained juvenile that resumes. He was one and done in the Summer, winning impressively at Pakenham before being spelled. Has had a couple of jumpouts for the return and has always shown good talent so keen to see how he goes.

3 Tennessee Bound (Bet Now: $1.45) is slowly rising in grade/depth but beware the unbeaten horse. Just don’t know how good she is. She spanked them at Sandown last time, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in. Good test her but confident she measures up.

5 Luna Cat (Bet Now: $5.50) commands respect for Team Hayes after her second a fortnight back here, looming as the winner when presented but just found one better in Markdel. Racing really well at present and can continue her purple patch.

6 Butternut Princess (Bet Now: $13.00) is a Moody/Coleman trained mare that resumes. This girl did some nice things when last in work, including a couple of notably good efforts in Stakes races. Likely will spot them a start but can motor late.

1100m is on the short side for 5 Express Class (Bet Now: $7.00), but ability wise, I do think he’s the best horse in the race. He hasn’t raced since the Australian Guineas when outclassed but far from disgraced behind Observer. He’ll spot them a start, launch late, and off the jumpouts, I think he’s forward enough.

4 Afterberna (Bet Now: $7.00) deserves another chance. She ran three weeks ago in the Creswick when held but far from disgraced in defeat behind Wise Inlaw. Like her back to 1100m and this looks a race well within reach.

2 Prince Tycoon (Bet Now: $4.80) ran a gutsy second in the Creswick three weeks back, landing on speed and tried hard under pressure but just found one better in Wise Inlaw. Good racing style and the big tick is back to 1100m.

9 First Chorus (Bet Now: $2.45) is a beauty for Lindsey Smith. Dominant win over 1700m here two weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating, continuing her fruitful campaign. Harder here, but with serious weight relief, kind map, she only runs well.

7 St Lawrence (Bet Now: $4.60) was an eye catcher behind Coeur Volante two weeks back over 1400m here, getting a fair way out of his ground and was pretty good late in the piece. Like the rise in trip and if he can settle closer, he takes holding out.

3 Magnaspin (Bet Now: $11.00) has to be given another look for the Corstens/Larkin camp. Real eye catcher first up over 1400m here before racing here again at 1400m when ridden far too warm on speed and tired to finish down the track. Think with a patient steer, rising to the mile, he’s a definite improver.

7 King’s Reflection… (Bet Now: $3.50) I think Coffey missed the boat in the Mahogany Final three weeks ago, but he got clear and had his chance to wind up and beat Brilliantezza, but that filly had electric change up speed when let down. Room to move here, she takes beating.

Forgive and forget 1 Decalogue (Bet Now: $3.90) from two weeks ago. He was just way too keen in the run and yes, Johnstone didn’t help by restraining, but the horse just had an off day I thought behind Ichnusa. He has credits in the bank to get another chance.

5 Our Chief (Bet Now: $7.50) looked the winner two weeks back over 2000m here, where he loomed from off speed but just found one better in Ichnusa. 2400m, I think, is fine, and with the right run in transit, he’s dangerous.

3 Zou Sensation (Bet Now: $6.50) looks a massive price here. He had two runs to try and get into the Stradbroke but failed in the Moreton Cup and was spelled. Back home, jumped out super since, I think he’ll run a beauty at odds.

6 Watchme Win (Bet Now: $7.50) was very good in the Monash I thought, working home pretty well from off speed when a close up fourth to Winnasedge. He was first up there so fitter and rising to 1200m, he should take beating.

2 Recommendation (Bet Now: $8.00) has run well in this race previously. He ran in the Monash when back near last in the run but worked home with real purpose behind Winnasedge. Can settle on speed and be effective late, so for me, he rates highly.

6 Stop The Rock (Bet Now: $6.00) is one of the hardest to beat. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and spotted those in front a start but kept chasing and finding the line in defeat behind Prince Eric. He has that 2000m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.

2 Makdane (Bet Now: $4.20) steps up to 2000m after racing over 1700m here two weeks ago, leading and giving a strong kick but had no answers late for noted swimmer First Chorus. 2000m should be fine, provided he gets a patient steer. Leading chance.

4 Station One (Bet Now: $151.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1700m here. He settled into a decent spot but first up, condition gave out. Might need another but is a tough nut who can keep chipping away.

5 Celtics (Bet Now: $9.00) chased with purpose two weeks back at this track/distance when second to Cruiserweight, closing well from the back. If he is able to settle closer in the run, he is a leading contender in a race like this.

2 Cruiserweight (Bet Now: $1.80) looks a really good prospect for Team Hayes after a dominant win two weeks ago at this track/distance. Admittedly he got the A1 run in transit but the manner in which he put them away was ultra impressive. He can win again and go through the grades.

1 Just Too Fly (Bet Now: $151.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming over 1100m at Rosehill when back off speed and just whacked late behind Polyglot. Fitter and up in trip, good upside, his best is good enough to run first four.

LONG SHOT: Race Four Number 5 Express Class
