Nine races will be run and won at Happy Valley with good depth across the program.

7 Plentiful (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well and should be strong late, as seen at Sha Tin last time down the straight where he got a fair way out of his ground but I really liked the way he closed off. If he can use the inside gate to advantage, settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

1 Dan Attack (Bet Now:  $SP.00) brings the A1 form to take this out. He ran over 1200m at Sha Tin last time where he ran in a strong Class 4 where he finished down the track behind a progressive animal, Masterofmyuniverse. Tricky draw, but the form lines read well.

12 Wind Speeder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and returns here after racing down the straight last time. He got off speed and was never really a winning threat. He should be one of the strongest late. Just needs to be within range.

3 Beauty Thunder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m after resuming over 1000m here. He got a fair way out of his ground but I really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, he’ll take beating against this lot.

12 Solar Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Nov 24 at Sha Tin racing on the dirt and just couldn’t get involved. He does go well on the fresh side and his tick over trial was solid, so I’d say watch the market and see what it does.

7 Iconical (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver at odds. Just needed the run on debut at Sha Tin before going here where he got a fair way back but worked home well enough wighiit threatening. Start three now so is hard fit and with a drag into the race, he’s dangerous.

1 Golden Luck (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done his recent racing at Sha Tin and does race well at Happy Valley so with that in mind, he takes beating. His recent run saw him get back in the run and made up good headway. Back to this class and level of race, he’ll take beating.

8 Golden Friendship (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Jimmy Ting trained gelding that is on debut. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one, the latest being at this track/distance when winning and moved well enough so watch the market and see what it does.

5 Hayday (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over 1200m at Sha Tin where he was outclassed and couldn’t get involved behind Super Legends. Maps kindly and his best is good enough to take this out.

If 1 Beauty Alliance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) handles Happy Valley, he’ll be too good for these. He had done his racing at Sha Tin, and his last couple of runs have been quite good, getting back and finishing off with purpose. He has a bit on these I feel.

4 Sturdy Ruby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has come back in really good order and is one of the key chances. His latest run saw him get a fair way out of his ground but was good late. If within range, I think he has the finale to be quite dangerous.

2 Thesis (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has run well at this track/distance previously and has a gate to get a sweet sit in transit. He ran over 1800m at Sha Tin last time when getting the suck run in behind and finished off well enough in defeat. Back to the mile, he rates highly for me.

1 King Profit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat for Danny Shum. Latest run was over 1200m at Sha Tin. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a solid kick but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Back to this sort of depth, he’s one of the hardest to beat despite a tricky barrier.

2 Perfect General (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Zoustar that resumes for Casper Fownes. He hasn’t raced since Oct 16 at this track/distance when near the speed and was game but just couldn’t quite finish the job behind the in form Spicy Gold. Trialled well and strikes a winnable race.

7 Bingo Babe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t set the world on fire in two career outings but the Blinkers come off after a mini freshen up and his tick over trial was a lovely piece of work I say. Not sure he wins, but I’d be including him in exotics.

5 Firefoot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. That win came two weeks ago at this track/distance when ridden with intent by Purton, landing on speed, and once that eventuated, it was race over and he was miles too good. Tricky draw, but a similar positive ride again, he’ll win again.

8 Snowalot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Dec 11 when trying his guts out but just couldn’t quite finish the job when second. He’s racing well and a win is near. If Firefoot is off his game, he can take this out.

1 Good Luck Babe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done nothing this prep but he has contested races which have been far stronger than what he faces here, with the runs coming at Sha Tin, so I think at a price, he is a big improver.

2 Romantic Laos (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will love the drop In grade depth after contesting the January Cup two weeks ago when outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat. Back to this level, hard to beat if there is petrol left in the tank.

8 Aestheticism (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Romantic Laos on Boxing Day here. He was an eye catcher, getting a fair way back in the run but I really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. If he’s within range 400m out, he has the finale to be quite dangerous and can win.

1 Keefy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) could be completely cast but back in depth, he could run an improved race at odds. His recent runs have come at Sha Tin in races where the depth has been far greater than what he faces here. Knockout hope.

7 Mojave Desert (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Mark Newnham and takes beating after racing on the Sha Tin dirt last time when off speed and kept chasing in a strong effort to run second. He’ll likely spot them a start but should be strong at the end and be hard to beat.

3 Riding Together (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another chance. Former UK galloper that made his HK debut over this trip at Sha Tin where he got back and was never a factor. Tick over trial was good and he must be showing something to make Zac stick.

10 Happy Fat Cat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) saves his best for this track/distance and I think can be an improver at odds. He ran over this track/distance two weeks back when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat. Maps to do no work and be strong at the end.

4 View Of The World (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a good thing to close out the program. He hasn’t raced since Boxing Day when a sharp track/distance winner and was dominant late. He’s got that win under the belt, he can go on with it and gets Purton aboard.

1 Eternal Fortune (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since a track/distance win where he got into a beaut spot behind the speed and finished best to score. He is racing well and should be around the mark.

3 Prawns Eleven (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has run well at the track/distance previously and is capable. He attempted to lead throughout at Sha Tin last time and gave a solid kick from the front but just tired late. He’ll land near the front and give a good sight at odds.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 5 Firefoot
