Stradbroke Handicap Information

The Stradbroke Handicap is a Group l sprint race and is the showpiece of the Brisbane Winter Carnival. It will be held at Eagle Farm racecourse (Doomben this year) over 1350m and is the highlight of the entire Carnival.

The race is at Group l level and boasts a total prize pool of $1.5 Million and is at Handicap weights.

The 2018 Stradbroke Handicap will be run on Saturday the 9th of June, 2018 at Eagle Farm racecourse (Doomben this year).

The Stradbroke Handicap is the draw card of the Carnival and brings horses over from across the country, including lead up runs from the Doomben 10000 (1350m) and the Goodwood (1200m).

The amazing stat to come out of this race is that over the last 30 years, only four last start winners have saluted in the Stradbroke, with the last one coming in 1993 courtesy of Never Underchange.
