One of the feature races at Eagle Farm this Saturday is the JJ Atkins (1600m), where Tron Bolt dominates betting.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for 2026 JJ Atkins.
2026 JJ Atkins Runner Preview:
1. Berzelius: Thought he was blessed in the Sires and yes, a kind map again, but I want to be against him.
2. Martist: Been hot on Martist for this race for a few weeks and won’t drop. I think he should have gone close to winning the BRC Sires but just had no luck in the straight and didn’t have the clearest of paths. He should be fine at the mile and with room to move, he can wind up and finish over the top.
3. Silken Salute: Was good late in the Sires and can settle closer here, but I have others ahead of her.
4. Tron Bolt: At the time of writing (Tuesday night), there was no rider booked, but even if J Mac rides, I want to be very much against him. Yes, a super win last start, but he ran ordinary time vs rest of the meeting, and for mine, the runner up didn’t go a yard on the surface. He’s way too short for my liking.
5. Stormy Marco: Stormy Marco is the fascinating runner. He didn’t beat much on debut at Hawkesbury but was strong to the line. He then went to the BRC Sires and was going to be in the finish but got badly checked and J Mac eased him down late. I think he’s very dangerous here.
6. Kickup Rocky: He’ll run the trip out strongly. Just a matter of what sort of start he concedes here. If within range, he can threaten.
7. Macedon Mission: Nice horse but this looks too soon.
8. Cormier: Cormier is the big watch for me. He wants this track to dry out, because he was a dynamic debut winner at Scone on a dry track before finding a bog at Rosehill and was there to blow them away I thought but he just didn’t ping and was run down late. He’ll run the mile fine. Just wants a drying track.
9. Glenorchy: The potential is there that he could be the best horse to come out of this race in 6-12 months time. Great last week, but just think he might spot them too much head start.
10. Heatstroke: Has really caught the eye in both runs and will be strong late. Just depends if he can use the gate to advantage.
11. Dream Roca: Not a miler.
12. Voynichese: Touch blessed last Saturday but even still, she was impressive and strong to the line. Must for exotics.
13. Vanzadee: Pass.

No leader here from what I can see. Maybe Voynichese? But the rest of these like to go back for cover so something will have to roll the dice.
