Lloyd Williams owned Mourayan has been scratched from today’s Melbourne Cup due to hoof problems. There was talks that Saturday’s Mackinnon Stakes runner up may be having issues after an announcement that he would wear bar plates in the race.
The Lloyd Williams-owned Mourayan has been scratched from the Melbourne Cup with soreness in a toe due to corrective shoeing.
Mourayan was a $15 chance in the Cup and was to have been ridden by Hugh Bowman.
Williams still has At First Sight in the Cup with Steven King to ride.
Last year’s winner Americain remains the $4.60 TAB Sportsbet favourite ahead of his French compatriot Dunaden at $8.50.
