RACE ONE

The specking for Fox Fighter was on the mark after it finished best to take out the Midway Handicap (1000 metres).

TAB had the gelding at $15 in the morning but at the jump $10 was on the table.

Capital Reign ($3.20-$5) was soft late despite going around as the most popular runner. Overall, he held 29 percent of the total investment and was the only one to break six figures.

Ashema ($6-$5) continued to have solid support after being backed in from $9.50 earlier in the week while Moralist ($26-$13) and Don Luigi ($23-$15) were nibbled at bigger odds.

RACE TWO

Coolangatta was a horror result for TAB after they took the filly on late in the Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes (1000 metres).

Remarkably, she held 63 percent of the money but went from $1.85 all the way out to $2.50 at the jump – her best price all week!

The Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace runner was nearly 10 times as popular as anything else in the race.

RACE THREE

The move for Sejardan paid dividends as it sprinted too well to take out the Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate (1000 metres).

Backed in from $17-$19-$10 on the day, Sejardan was much too good for Zambezi River ($5-$7) and Emperor ($17-$19).

In an open betting affair, Victory Moments ($3.80-$5-$4.80) held the most in front of Zambezi River and Resonator ($19-$7) which was the most notable firm in the race.

Kibou ($4.20-$5) was best of the rest.

RACE FOUR

Wairere Falls was kept safe in betting for most of the TAB Handicap (1600 metres).

The Chris Waller-trained galloper was $7.50 in the morning and got into $6 at the jump, however, he was overshadowed in betting by a handful of others.

Stablemate Bigboyroy ($4.40-$5) held more than three times the amount of money that the winner did, while Just Thinkin ($10-$7-$8) had admirers at the eachway quote. Kiss The Bride ($4.20-$5) attracted solid support.

RACE FIVE

Think It Over did the right thing by favourite backers when proving too tough in the Yulong Hill Stakes (2000 metres).

Coming in to even money with the withdrawal of Verry Elleegant earlier in the week, he went $2-$1.75-$1.80 after that.

Holding 54 percent of the total investment, Think It Over held more than double the next best tried runner which was Duais ($4.80-$6-$5.50).

Shared Ambition ($7-$4.80-$6.50).

BETS: Think It Over $10,755 @ $1.80, $3,000 @ $1.80, $4,000 @ $1.75

RACE SIX

Punters loaded up on Masked Crusader in the Premiere Stakes (1200 metres) and were rewarded with a brilliant win.

The son of Toronado came from last to get the money as a $2.50 favourite. He opened the day at $2.20 and peaked at $2.60, holding nearly twice as much as the second pick in the market, Rothfire ($3.80-$3.30).

Overall, Masked Crusader held 45 percent of the market.

Of the rest, Lost And Running ($6-$6.50) was quite solid and attracted a few decent bets while I Am Superman ($19-$12) was a speck at odds.

RACE SEVEN

Never Been Kissed caused the upset in the Darley Flight Stakes (1600 metres).

The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained filly was largely ignored by punters, drifting from $31-$61 on the day before a late rally saw her start $41.

Hinged ($21-$18-$21) had good support at eachway odds while Startantes ($4-$5-$4.40) started favourite and held more money than anything else bar Mallory ($4.80-$5).

BETS: Startantes $1,000 @ $5, $1,500 @ $4.40

RACE EIGHT

Private Eye came from near last on the turn to fly home and take out the TAB Epsom (1600 metres) in a sensational finish.

One of the first horses backed after the final field came out on Tuesday, TAB customers backed him from $13 into as low as $8 later in the week.

Today, he reopened at $12 and peaked at $13 before starting a $12 chance.

Riodini ($4.80) went around as favourite, however, Mo’unga ($7-$7.50) was the most popular runner in terms of money taken.

The big push earlier in the day was for Hungry Heart which went $8.50-$6 at one stage. She eventually blew back out to $8.

Of the rest, Sky Lab peaked at $23 before jumping $16.

RACE NINE

Montefilia outstayed her rivals to take out a thrilling Heineken Metropolitan (2400 metres).

The original race favourite on Tuesday, Montefilia was installed a $5 chance at that stage but lost top spot in betting latter in the week to Entente.

Today, she was $6 and got to $6.50 at the jump and was the second most popular runner in terms of money held. Entente, a $11 chance on Tuesday, was $7-$4.60-$5 on the day and went around as race favourite. It held the most money and was responsible for roughly 21 percent of the total investment.

Of the others, No Compromise peaked at $13 and jumped at $9.50 while Zeyrek ($51 on Tuesday) was the big mover throughout the week and started $9.50.

RACE TEN

Big Parade upset the big plunge on Gravina when taking out the Cleanaway Handicap (1200 metres).

The Godolphin mare was hammered throughout the day and was easily the most popular galloper on the Randwick card. She held well over the half the market and was nearly five times as popular as the winner. Her flucs were $2.25-$1.85-$2.

Big Parade ($3.90-$4.40) had decent support but was a drifter thanks to the backing for the fav.

Rocketing By ($8-$12-$9.50) was actually the second best tried runner behind Gravina.

RACE ONE

Get In the Spirit took out the first at Flemington winning by two lengths. Lascars saw some early money ($12-$10) and Rampant Lion had admirers, getting to as low as $5.50 before settling at $7.00 before the jump. Robusto was the best backed of the race holding 24 percent of the market.

RACE TWO

El Patroness was able to hold on and take the win over Tiz Magic and Gunstock. Only holding the six percent of the market, El Patroness drifted $8.50-$10 during the day. The best backed by far was Gunstock who held over half the market and firmed $2.70 in to $2.10 after opening $5 on Wednesday.

RACE THREE

Punters were confident that the Freedman-trained Elusive Express would take out the TAB Edward Manifold Stakes. Despite drifting out $3.00-$3.60 the filly was the best backed of the day holding 44 percent of the market. Yearning saw some support during the day firming $8.00-$6.50. Adele Armour was the biggest mover of the race after opening at $10 and firming into $6.50.

RACE FOUR

In a close finish, Kementari took at the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes over Zoutori. The 7YO was well backed during the day firming from $11 in to $9.50 at the jump, despite holding just eight percent of the market. Zoutori was the most popular with punters followed by Kemalpasa ($4.20-$3.60-$3.80).

RACE FIVE

Kallos had a strong finish for the Godolphin stables and an upset for punters in the Danehill Stakes. There was not a lot of support for the first four with a combined hold of 20% of the overall market. Favourite Ingratiating that was best backed with the 3YO holding nearly 50% of the market.

RACE SIX

Still A Star had a great win over Pride of Jenni in the Group 2 Rose of Kingston Stakes. Support was light during the day for the 5YO mare, after opening at $6.00 and drifting out to $10 at the jump. Pride of Jenni firmed to $51 before settling at $61. Mystic Journey jumped as second favourite after Annavisto and held 28% of the market.

RACE SEVEN

Incentivise did not disappoint with another terrific win in the Group 1 TAB Turnbull Stakes. Despite a slight drift $2.50-$2.80, the gelding came out on top ahead of Young Werther and Chapada. However favourite Verry Elleegant who was backed into $2.00 after opening at $2.50 on Wednesday, finished fourth despite holding more than half the market.

RACE EIGHT

Grande Promenade secured his ticket into the 2021 Melbourne Cup after winning the Group 3 Bart Cummings. After opening the at $4.60 the Maher & Eustace trained gelding drifting out to $5.50 ahead of the 2520m race. Sheraz was the best backed of the race with the 24 percent of the market.

RACE NINE

Justacanta stormed home to take out the last at Flemington. The Patrick Payne trained gelding showed some support throughout the day firming $11 in to $8.50. Mystery Shot also firmed $9.50 in to $6.50 at the time of the jump. The best backed on the day was Aysar closely followed by Tavidance.
