The Shorts Information

The The Shorts is one of the early Spring feature races held each year on George Main Stakes Day in late September at Randwick Racecourse.

The 1100m race is at Group 2 level and is run under set weights for 3YO and upward horses, boasting a total prize pool of $500,000.

The 2020 The Shorts will be run on Saturday the 19th of September, 2020 at Randwick Racecourse.

The Group 3 Concorde Stakes earlier in the month at the same track has proven to be an ideal lead-up for this race.

Horses that run in The Shorts will often go on to compete in Group One races and other feature races, such as The Everest, throughout the Spring Carnival.
