Lightning Stakes:

The big mare will get her own way but it won’t be as easy as last time out in the Patinack classic. This time expect Hay List to be tracking just outside her and he will make her work for the win. Our traders expect the three year olds to run well, Stirling Grove over from Adelaide and Crystal Lily to get a nice run in behind the favourite. She is trained up for this and is a must for multiples.

C.S Hayes Stakes:
The C S Hayes Stakes (Race 5) is traditionally a leader dominated race and this year should prove to be the same. Dusty Star was outstanding when he held on to win last week and while he will be in this race for a long way we expect Enjin Number Nine to make it win number four. He will get the run of the race and be revving up from ‘one out one back’ and then just go ‘wooshka’. Spirited Eagle from Adelaide is talented but from barrier 12 Clare Lindop will have to go back and that takes him out of the equation. Similarly our traders expect Anacheeva to find the line well but this is not his race and he is looking further ahead to the Australian Guineas.

Mitty’s Vanity:
The Mittys Vanity (Race 4) is a skinny race and Do Ra Mi can have punters singing a winning tune. Luke Nolen should have no problems dictating terms from the front and he is now ready for the 1400 metres. No fancy price but will be winning. Southern Speed from Adelaide is promising but won’t be able to run down the leader from her wide draw. The only other chance is Absolutely who ran very well second up last preparation.
