Buffering is among first acceptances for the Group One Doomben 10,000 released on Wednesday.
The Rob Heathcote-trained speedster was the pre-post favourite for last Saturday’s BTC Cup but was scratched after failing to recover from a stone bruise.
However, Heathcote is confident Buffering will be right for the 1350 metre weight-for-age feature on Saturday week and has paid up for him to run.
Stablemate and Oakleigh Plate winner Woorim is also among the entries along with BTC Cup winner Sea Siren for John O’Shea.
There are 22 horses still in the mix for the Doomben 10,000 including last year’s winner Beaded, the Tony Gollan-trained pair of Temple Of Boom and Spirit of Boom and Albert The Fat for Chris Waller.
Final acceptances for the race will be taken next Wednesday.
