Ten races have been set down for Eagle Farm on Saturday for a bumper day of Stakes racing. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out two metres for the entire circuit.

8 Providence (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a colt that looks to have a big engine under the hood. He debuted at Randwick two weeks ago and was one of the real eye cathcers of the meeting, closing with real purpose from off the speed behind Agarwood. Fitter and up to 1500m, he’ll be strong late, better for the debut, he appeals.

13 Sunrays (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been so well placed by Kelly Schweida and comes to 1500m after a spank job win two weeks ago in the Bill Carter where she gave them a start, a beating, and was strong to the line. 1500m should be fine, maps ideally, hard to beat.

2 Navy Pilot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had eyes on this race for some time and arrives here off the back of a placing at Ipswich over 1350m. I am not sure he was 100% happy on the tight track, only getting nabbed late. I think 1500m and the bigger track, he is in the mix.

Kelly Schweida has tried 13 Metalart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) as a 1200m, maybe even 1400m, but he does seem quite effective over the shorter trips, as seen two weeks ago at Doomben over 1110m, getting better as the race went on and was quite dominant. He’ll be strong late and maps ideally.

1 Steady Ready (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist that clearly appeals here. He hasn’t raced since March 28 when a tough, gritty winner of the King Of The Mountain where he saw the 1200m out and fended them off. He loves the 1000m, he’ll land on speed and take beating.

4 All That Pizzazz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Feb 22 over 1200m at Doomben when down the track and never really a factor behind King Kapa. Resumes without a trial but first up here, to me, signals intent. Watch betting.

5 Thalassophile (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat for Chris Waller I suspect. She ran two weeks ago in the Magic Millions Mile where she got back in the run and took a while to wind into her but she was quite good late in the piece. If she can settle closer, be within range, she’ll be strong late and can win.

6 Osmose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order for GaiBott and is one of the hardest to beat after resuming two weeks ago in the Bernborough. She tried her guts out but first up on testing ground, condition just gave way late behind Brookhaven. Fitter, she takes beating.

13 Poetic Drama (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with her best. She ran at Doomben two weeks back in the Magic Millions Mile where she just got too far out of her ground but worked home with real purpose. She doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but she is racing well enough to win.

1 Punch Lane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Team Freedman. He hasn’t raced sine the Hawkesbury Cup when leading throughout and he was quite impressive in the run to the line. He was very fit there and although he likely has eyes on the Stradbroke, he is very tough and very genuine.

2 Hidden Wealth (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate firmer footing after racing in the 10,000 three weeks ago. He did a stack of early work on speed and the burn just told late in the piece behind Sunshine In Paris. Much better suited at this level and on a firmer track, he’s a definite improver.

3 Spacewalk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing two weeks ago in the Chief De Beers. He got a fair way out of his ground, dragged back from the wide gate, and was never really a factor. More positive ride, he can be strong late and can win.

2 Winnasedge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take a power of beating here after racing at Caulfield several weeks back. He landed on speed and fought really hard when asked for the effort but couldn’t quite see it through when nabbed late by Prancing Spirit. Jumped out like a rocket recently alongside Asfoora and does look hard to beat here.

10 Gerringong (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming in the Denise’s Joy at Scone when off speed and came with a well timed run, just missing out on the win when second to Summer Flame in a blanket finish. More posirive ride, she takes beating.

4 Hella Fast (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable. He got too far out of his ground two weeks back in the Darby McCarthy and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and wasn’t too bad in defeat I thought. Hard fit now and up to 1200m again, he appeals as a threat.

16 Fukubana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be rated as the one to beat after a dominant win a few weeks ago at Doomben where he gave them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. He’s flying this prep, he has ticked the 1600m box and it’s hard to get away from him.

14 Belvedere Boys (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix. Stablemate of Fukubana that resumes after a fat Summer campaign, which ended with a narrow second in the Magic Millions Subzero. It’ll be interesting to see where they go with this guy, whether they have eyes on the Grafton Cup maybe? Not sure, but he is a good horse and his trial work has been strong.

4 Attractable (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came in the BRC Sprint. He was doing too much work in the run, the track was too testing…just forgive and forget the run. He had trialled well prior and firmer footing is a big tick so I say he’s a big improver.

I think you have to be forgiving of the Goodwood defeat from 1 Giga Kick (Bet Now:  $SP.00). Not so much if you dived into the shorts, but he was forced quite wide on the turn and he was first up. He does get better as the prep goes on and he has thrived in Brisbane previously. He can win.

10 Joliestar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Chris Waller, having not raced since the All Aged Stakes where she did seem to have her chance but she was far from disgraced in defeat behind Jimmysstar. Tick over trial was nice last week and she is the class factor, by some distance.

I’m very interested in 11 Kimochi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) and how she performs here. She didn’t have the best of luck during the Sydney Autumn, notably the TJ Smith where Nash even said himself post race he rode her like a 3kg apprentice. Loved the way she moved in a recent trial and her best is clearly good enough.

Keen to butter up with 1 Benagil (Bet Now:  $SP.00). I thought she was a good thing in The Roses two weeks ago and despite being beaten seven lengths, I reckon she fights the finish out, goes close at worst, if she had a clear path from the 600m to the line. She’s a class filly and I think getting to Eagle Farm, room to move, she’s the one to beat.

2 Philia (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for David Vandyke and is a key threat after a win in The Roses where she got front end control and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and was strong to the line in winning. If the 2200m is fine, which I think it is, then she rates highly.

8 Pinito (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for James Cummings, having not raced since taking out the Gold Coast Bracelet where she lapped up the wet tracl and made a mess of them in dominant fashion. Tick over trial at Warwicl Farm was strong and she gives every indication of eating up 2200m.

The more I watch the replay of the SA Derby, the more disgusted I get with the ride from J Allen on 3 Statuario (Bet Now:  $SP.00). It should have bolted in but he gave it none by coming wide, conceding ground, and in turn, the eventual winner Femminile got the run Statuario had. He’ll eat up 2400m, he has quality about him…like him a lot.

6 Lavalier (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will have no issue with the 2400m. He tried his guts out in the SA Derby but just lacked the change up speed and finale to get the job done when third to Femminile. Truly run 2400m is ideal for him and can settle near the speed. One of the leading contenders.

I thought there was a bit of quality about the win of 14 Rogan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) at Caulfield last time, the way he gave them a start and a beating, clocking great late splits to score. He’ll eat up 2400m, be strong late…just needs a drag into the race.

Class to get 1 Coeur Volante (Bet Now:  $SP.00) home for Team Hayes. She hasn’t raced since April 12 when far from disgraced behind Fangirl in the Queen Of The Turf. Tick over trial was good, she’ll press forward and class wise, she has a few lengths on these.

5 Comrade Rosa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the key chances after her effort in the Archer. She got a mile out of her ground but tracked up with purpose, angled clear and launched late, just missing out on the win when second to Lubrication. Loves Eagle Farm and a drying track is music to her ears.

3 Terra Mater (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a class mare for Jarrod Austin that resumes. She hasn’t raced since The Invitation in the Spring when outclassed behind Belclare. She does seem to react best on the fresh side, her trials have been electric and she does click with Nash.

BEST BET: Race Eight Number 1 Benagil

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 3 Statuario

LONG SHOT: Race Three Number 5 Thalassophile
