Race 1. (18:00) Arrowfield Graduates Mdn Hcp 1100m
1 Euripedes (Bet Now:Β $3.40) is a Street Boss colt for Bjorn Baker that resumes. He debuted here in November when placing behind Fireball, who won the Inglis Millennium, so the form reads super, and loved the way he went in a trial win at Rosehill. He’ll spear across and take running down.
10 The Wilding (Bet Now:Β $5.50) is a GaiBott filly that resumes after a debut in the Gimcrack when far from disgraced behind Shiki. Two trials under the belt, should press forward and be around the mark against these.
8 Universe (Bet Now:Β $6.00) is a well bred colt that debuts for Chris Waller. He hasn’t quite set the world on fire in trial work but maps to do no work and a good lead is that J Mac elects to steer, so watch betting.
Race 2. (18:30) Inglis Premier Yearling Sale (Bm64) 1200m
3 Penpel (Bet Now:Β $2.05) is a Team Conners trained filly that resumes. She had a two run Spring prep and didn’t really fire each time so was spelled soon after. Looks to have trialled up well for the return, will press forward and take running down.
6 Beverly Hills (Bet Now:Β $6.50) is a Chris Waller trained filly that is first up, her last run coming on Nov 12 when placing at the midweeks at Warwick Farm. Looks to have trialled nicely enough for a first up showing so watch betting.
7 Great Height (Bet Now:Β $10.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m after resuming over 1100m at Gosford behind Mercy Me. She got back to near last in the run and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was pretty good late. Maps to settle closer and be dangerous at odds.
Race 3. (19:00) The Agency Real Estate (Bm64) 1900m
9 Savvy Soy (Bet Now:Β $2.80) is on the seven day back up for GaiBott after racing over 1550m last Friday night here, attempting to lead throughout. He gave a strong sight but had to settle for a second to Throttle Response. Should find the top and take running down.
1 Dollars (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) steps up to 1900m after a win over the mile at Taree where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted to win and win well. Harder here but he was dominant last time so I’d say he’s in the mix for sure.
8 Procean (Bet Now:Β $13.00) comes back to 1900m after racing over 2400m at Kembla last start when met with good market support and did try hard but for mine, the trip was a bridge too far. Much better suited here, a knockout hope.
Race 4. (19:30) Quayclean (Bm78) 1900m
7 Powerhouse (Bet Now:Β $2.25) comes to town off the back of an on speed win over the mile at Newcastle when ridden with real intent and looked the winner a long way out, drawing clear late to score. He should find the top here and prove hard to get past.
3 Pleasure Artist (Bet Now:Β $6.00) ran over this track/distance two weeks ago when just off speed and while she didn’t have the smoothest of runs in transit, she seemingly had her chance behind Centenario. Think with a more positive ride, she’s dangerous.
6 Gentileschi (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. She ran over 1550m two weeks back here when off speed and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was a definite pass mark. Hard fit and rising in trip, she’s a chance.
Race 5. (20:00) Toyota Forklifts (Bm72) 1250m
Like 2 Diddle Dumpling (Bet Now:Β $1.85). Just think she found them a touch sharp when resuming a few weeks ago over 1200m at Randwick, closing with purpose late when eventually clear. Like the rise to 1250m for her, she’ll be strong late and can settle closer.
1 Sacred Rocks (Bet Now:Β $6.00) is a Ciaron Maher trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Aug 30 when down the track over 1500m at Rosehill behind Sunshine Law. Unbeaten fresh and her two trials have been solid so watch betting.
10 Burj (Bet Now:Β $4.80) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1100m last Friday night where she was badly held up in behind and had plenty to offer it seemed when fourth. Hard fit, rising in trip with a kind map…not pot penning her.
Race 6. (20:30) Schweppes (Bm72) 1200m
3 Maybe Moet (Bet Now:Β $2.20) should be odds on here so I am surprised she opened near $3 given how dominant she was two weeks ago here, getting better as the race went on in a sharp display. Maps ideally, J Mac sticks, keen again.
2 Southern Heiress (Bet Now:Β $3.60) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Jan 10 when fourth in a strong Class 4 during the Magic Millions at the Gold Coast behind Poster Girl, who won the Magic Millions F&M a week later. Form reads well, trial was strong, key chance.
5 Let’s Go Barbie (Bet Now:Β $12.00) comes back to 1250m for Chris Waller after a maiden win over 1400m at Warwick Farm on Australia Day, getting the suck run in behind before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win quite well. Back in trip but gets the claim and will be strong at the end.
Race 7. (21:00) Canterbury Night Sprint Series Final (Bm78) 1100m
4 Kimberley Secrets (Bet Now:Β $2.90) looks the map horse and am just leaning her way in a very open contest. Big win from her last Friday night at this track/distance because she sat on speed and was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and score. Maps to stalk the speed and be effective late.
1 Bev’s Nine (Bet Now:Β $3.20) is quite progressive for O’Shea/Charlton. 4/4 to start his career, the latest win being a first up crush six weeks ago, getting better as the race went on to score here. Tick over trial at Canterbury was quite good, I think he’s one of the hardest to beat against these.
5 The Face (Bet Now:Β $18.00) ran second to Kimberley Secrets in the race mentioned above. He stalked the speed and got out in time to win but just couldn’t quite get there. He’ll do no work in the run and be effective late. Must for exotics.
Race 8. (21:30) Irresistible Pools And Spas (Bm72) 1550m
7 Mornington Pier (Bet Now:Β $5.50) will do me each way in the last. He ran over 1400m at Warwick Farm last time out where he got a fair way out of his ground but was good late behind Heat Missile. Maps to settle much closer and be effective late.
14 Cellarmaster (Bet Now:Β $3.10) is one of the key threats for O’Shea/Charlton. He ran second over the mile at Newcastle last time to Powerhouse in the race mentioned earlier in the preview. He attempted to lead throughout and tried hard but had no answers late for the GaiBott galloper. Good racing style, he takes beating.
9 Piperita (Bet Now:Β $7.50) steps up to 1550m after a dominant win at Wyong over 1350m last start, making a sustained run from off speed and class kicked in late as she drew clear. Has run well in town before and was scratched from Rosehill on Wednesday in preference for this.
