2/5/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm, Queensland Guineas day

Nine races will be run and won at Eagle Farm this Saturday for Queensland Guineas Day. The weather is fine, the track is heavy (8) and the rail is out five metres for the entire circuit.

4 Without Parallel (Bet Now: $3.70) is capable for Matty Dunn. She was gallant in defeat three weeks ago at Doomben and yes, beaten as a heavily backed favourite, but was three wide no cover and the hard run just told late. Better run in transit here, back to Mares grade, she can win but needs luck from the draw.

15 Champagne Lane (Bet Now: $4.20) steps up to 1200m after resuming over 1110m at Doomben where she just found them a bit sharp but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off in defeat. Extra ground, bigger track, rider upgrade, she appeals.

10 Gambino (Bet Now: $19.00) is first up for Kelly Schweida and is dangerous here. His last run was Dec 13 over 1400m here. He ran fourth to Esjay, seemingly having his chance but just whacked in the run to the line. Bit of a break between his trial win and here, so watch betting.

2 Autumn Winter (Bet Now: $2.60) is flying for Matty Smith and all things being equal, he is the likely winner. He has won two on the bounce, knuckling down with purpose late to win two back at Wyong before going to Warwick Farm when leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in. Not much depth here, I think good luck beating him.

10 Prochester (Bet Now: $3.30) is a model of consistency and should be around the mark. He ran fourth over 2400m here a fortnight back, trying hard but just lacked the killer finale behind Liberty Park. Back to 2200m I do like and he strikes a winnable race.

3 Canberra Legend (Bet Now: $17.00) is getting towards peak fitness and should love getting to a suitable trip. He ran over the mile here two weeks back and kept chasing without really threatening behind Ocean Zar. Finally gets to a suitable trip, he’s dangerous.

9 All Adore (Bet Now: $2.40) to jump/run and be too good, as seen two weeks ago at this track/distance, giving nothing else a look in to win well. Right down to 51.5kg after the claim, she’ll land on the bunny and take running down.

10 Balance The Books (Bet Now: $2.80) was awful when resuming a fortnight back at this track/distance but the pattern was against her and the ride was very negative I thought. Hopefully gets a half decent steer this time around and will take holding out.

2 En Pointe (Bet Now: $14.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1200m here last Saturday when on speed and fought on really well in defeat behind Cloudland. Like her back to 1000m, she’ll stalk the speed and be strong late.

2 Belvedere Boys (Bet Now: $14.00) has to carry the weight but there is a reason for that because he is the class. Loved his return at Eagle Farm two weeks ago over 1400m, closing nicely from the back without threatening behind Ten Deep. Fitter, up in trip, class, he’ll take beating.

6 So You Are (Bet Now: $7.00) steps up to 1800m after a solid third over the mile at Doomben three weeks ago, chasing strongly from off speed but just couldn’t quite get there behind the in form Sir Winnie. Bigger track, fitter, 1800m, he appeals.

11 Cavalry Man (Bet Now: $5.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over the mile here, getting back to near last and against the pattern, worked home really well late behind Nodachi. Like him up to 1800m and with a more positive ride, will take holding out.

9 He’s Tru Blu (Bet Now: $6.50) looks suited up to 1300m after a first up effort over 1200m here four weeks ago. He got back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Better for the run, good upside, he takes beating.

2 Icarian Dream (Bet Now: $3.90) was game in defeat three weeks ago over 1350m at Doomben, chasing strongly from off speed but just found one better in Smexy. Back to 1300m is fine, knocking on the door and strikes a winnable race.

7 Duomo (Bet Now: $16.00) has a good racing style and will take running down, as seen at Doomben over 1350m, leading throughout and had enough in hand to score. Wet ground is the query but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

3 The Next Episode (Bet Now: $1.75) will need luck from the gate but if he gets it, he blows this field away. Should have won the Kindergarten at Randwick but bombed the start. Went like a rocket in a recent trial and is just better than these.

6 Barracks (Bet Now: $11.00) is a talented type for Ciaron Maher. I think he’ll be a really good prospect once he loses his manhood because he is still very much a colt. Did everything wrong last time at Hawkesbury when second, beaten as a short priced favourite. He has the talent and if he does everything right, he can win.

7 Dream Roca (Bet Now: $7.50) is a talented filly for Liam Birchley that comes into this fresh off a win in the Karaka Millions at Ellerslie on Jan 24, getting the beaut run in transit under Ben Thompson and finished best. Commands respect but watch betting.

5 Options (Bet Now: $20.00) steps up to the mile after resuming over 1400m in the South Pacific at Randwick. He was beaten for early speed and never really a factor but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Might need another and further but has a touch of class/quality about him.

3 Call Da Vinci (Bet Now: $6.50) should love the rise to the mile after racing over 1400m here a fortnight back. He got off speed before being presented clear air and tried hard but had to settle for a second to Brave Monarch. Hard fit, 1600m, he appeals.

9 Autumn King (Bet Now: $13.00) looks a nice horse for the Messara/Gavranich camp. He ran in the South Pacific three weeks ago at Randwick where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, his finale was more than sound. Can settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

1 Transatlantic (Bet Now: $7.00) is first up for Tony Gollan and is a very interesting runner from a Stradbroke perspective. He hasn’t raced since Nov 8 when a game second in the Five Diamonds behind Vivy Air. Likely will spot them a start but launch late and a win wouldn’t shock.

11 In Flight (Bet Now: $8.50) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it, as seen in the Sapphire three weeks ago, finishing best from just off speed to score. Very genuine mare that should be around the mark against these.

6 Warnie (Bet Now: $6.50) is a very interesting runner. Ended last prep on a high and I dare say they’d love to get him to a Stradbroke. Trials have been good, he loves getting his toe in, he’ll get back but be strong late.

5 Charcoals (Bet Now: $6.00) for me in the get out. He was pretty good in defeat at Rosehill last time, closing well against the pattern in defeat behind the in form Captain Furai. Hoping for a positive ride from Thompson and he’ll be strong at the end.

19 Grammar Lad (Bet Now: $3.40) is in a purple patch for Kelly Schweida and commands respect. He has won two on the bounce, the latest coming three weeks ago over 1350m at Doomben when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Harder here but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

21 Sultry Siren (Bet Now: $10.00) is racing well without winning. She ran fourth at this track/distance two weeks back, landing on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late when fourth to Ten Deep. Think with a more patient steer, she’ll be far more effective.
