This is the last midweek Woodbine meet of the year. So Ric Chapman has studied every runner and here are his thoughts each race.
Race 1 10:45am 1700m Synthetic
WINDJAMMER off the inside draw is going to get herself into a great spot with cover all the way. Can run the trip and rates highly. As does MONSOON RAIN who, despite the big weight, is in form and should sprout wings late. He may be a bit better than these. CAPE MIOST is reliable at this level.
TIPS: (6) MONSOON RAIN, (1) Windjammer, (5) cape Mist
Race 2 11:15am 1100m Synthetic
This looks a perfect send off for the year for MASSEY HALL. He probably runs a short priced fav because he just looks too quick for this level. DANCING DEREK most likely tries to run with him early but I doubt he can. Plods into a place for mine and ROYAL FUERST, a stablemate of the fav, should get home hard as well.

Race 3 11:45am 1670m 2YO Synthetic
Hard race to work out. But I’m of the opinion GOOD TO ME has staying talent and probably makes a concerted charge late. ICE BLUE carries the most weight but he is fairly resilient and form says he is right up to this providing he gets cover. SATIVA should receive the great, gun run from this draw and when they tire, he should be poking through.
TIPS: (3) GOOD TO ME, (1) Sativa, (6) Ice Blue
Race 4 12:15pm 1300m Mdn Synthetic
CAPTURE THE RIDE is slow early but he can finish. Probably drops into about 6th in the beginning, saving ground and should battle on well in the straight at big odds. Emma Jayne Wilson often rides at least one winner on a card and she has a good chance here with KILKENNY PROSPECT. He too will look to tuck in but at this level he looks to be a chance to swamp them all late. BIG HAMBONE is a plugger who is honest without winning many. Will be thereabouts.

Race 5 12:45pm 1670m Mdn Synthetic
I think top trainer Mike De Paulo can quinella this. Just not 100% sure which way though. He saddles the consistent UNDER CITY LIGHTS and DYNA’S GAMBLE. Both appear to be at their peek for a low key race like this. Under City Lights has the best draw of the pair. For 3rd, I’m throwing in MY LADIES’ MAN who should be big odds but looks to like this journey.

Race 6 1:15pm 1700m Synthetic
Interesting race because ALL of the top trainers have runners which is odd for such a low key race. FLORIDA WON off the inside has the top jock on too so looks to get the run of the race behind what should be a solid pace. Is racing well enough, but so too are HE’S BANKABLE and the outside draw DIFFERENTIAL. There was a great deal of money placed on Differential overnight so expect him to race very boldly in this.
TIPS: (7) DIFFERENTIAL, (1) Florida Won, (6) He’s Bankable
Race 7 1:45pm 1700m Synthetic
CRUMLIN QUEEN and DESERT POEM are honest and will battle away down the running but I fear for minor money as this LOVE DADDY looks to have this at her mercy. Form is a cut above these. Should be your anchor bet.

Race 8 2:15pm 1700m Synthetic track
The draw should accord FOLLOW MY LEAD, who should be double-figure odds, a great trip here and as a result can place. The money will come for LOOKIN FOR EIGHT who is in form, was impressive last start, and is down in class. Should rattle home but I think he has a fight on his hands with ADMIRALS COVE. He isn’t a claim here which means the connections like him and want to retain him. That’s always a great sign and he has the top jock riding.
