Seven-time Group 1 winner, Alligator Blood, impressed in a Sydney trial, signalling an early return to Melbourne’s weight-for-age races.
Initially planned for a light autumn campaign, the seven-year-old’s Rosehill trial suggests readiness for the 2024 Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 10.
Despite initial indications of a Futurity Stakes appearance, Alligator Blood’s trial showcased his readiness for the upcoming challenges.
In his last race at Flemington in November, he secured a valiant third-place finish in the Champions Mile (1600m).
Jockey Adam Hyeronimus guided him to a comfortable win in the 900-meter trial, fueling anticipation for his Melbourne comeback.
“Having a good trial and a good hitout here.”
