Vein Girl, the Chris and Corey Munce stable’s impressive winner of the $250,000 Magic Millions The Debut at the first night meeting at the Gold Coast on December 20, is going to head straight to the $3 million Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic on January 11 without having another run before then.

The $152,500 won by the daughter of Blue Point on that occasion means she has already comfortably qualified for the big race, giving the Munce training partnership the luxury of fine tuning their lead-up plans for Vein Girl as they see fit without any being under any undue pressure.

“She’ll head straight to The Millions,’,” confirmed co-trainer Corey Munce. “It’s a great position to be able to do that. Thankfully, with that prize-money, we don’t have to worry. We are not stressed at all with her.

Vein Girl handled that important first outing in The Debut like a professional, turned out in superb physical condition by the Munce stable with a fighting spirit to complement her ability.

Two-year-olds are almost always a constant work in progress, but Vein Girl has been relatively quick to comes to terms with what it takes to be a racehorse.

“Early days she handled the work, but she did get a little tired mentally and had a break,” offered co-trainer Corey Munce. “We try to get our two-year-olds and yearlings in and out at the right time, and we are very satisfied with the way that is working.

“Vein Girl just came in again at the right time. She is physically and mentally fine. She handles work. She has got a good attitude, and she just eats everything. She has to be on one of the biggest feeds in the stable.

“She has just been truly faultless and that is one of the great things with her. It’s all very positive.

“It was pretty much a toss of the coin with regard to The Debut. We were thinking … were we going to try and win a trial with her again (Vein Girl already had one trial win in the bank), or do we go to the races.

“We took the benefit of taking her down to the Gold Coast where she won a trial impressively, with a good time to back it up.

“We drew a good gate in The Debut, Cejay (Graham) is well affiliated with the filly … and they did the job.

“As I said, she is really a fault-free filly. She does everything right. She is very well educated. She is a determined racehorse.

“Hopefully we can get a good gate for the Millions which would help take luck out of the equation.

“You certainly can’t get ahead of yourself or get too excited at this stage, but we couldn’t be happier with the way things are going.”

After being withdrawn from the 2023 MM Gold Coast National Weanling Sale, Vein Girl was knocked down to Munce Racing / Arthur Hoyeau – Agent for $60,000.

Vien Girl is owned by an all-female ownership group which means that apart from competing for the races overall $3 million prize tag … $1,739,100 (first place), $540,000 (second place), $270 000 (third place) and $135,000 (fourth place) with prize-money paid all the way down to tenth place … Vein Girl will also be eligible for the $500 000 prize-pool on offer for Racing Woman’s Bonus which hands $325,000 to the first all-female owned horse to cross to line, irrespective of its finishing position.
