Spring is in the air this Saturday at Randwick, with the Missile Stakes (1200m) highlighting a strong ten race program. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

3 Century Song (Bet Now: $8.00) steps up to 1100m after racing over 1000m last Wednesday on the Kenso, getting a fair way out of his ground but was really good late in the piece behind Vella’s Best. Up to 1100m I like and if within range, will take holding out.

10 Bangkok Hottie (Bet Now: $2.10) is a quality filly for David Payne that resumes. If she is going to be a filly heading down the Princess Series path, she has to be going close here, and despite no public trials, class is going to carry her a long way.

5 Let’s Go Again (Bet Now: $7.00) comes to this Midway off the back of a win over 1200m at Kembla, leading throughout and was strong in the run to the line in scoring. Has run well at Midway before so she commands respect off a win.

11 Move She Can (Bet Now: $16.00) looks a ripping each way gamble. She resumed over 1000m at Dubbo where she got too far out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she worked home with real purpose. Maps to stalk a hot speed and will be strong late.

3 Lady Olenna (Bet Now: $4.50) is a Messara/Gavranich trained mare that resumes. Her last run came in the Autumn in a CC Qualifier at Muswellbrook behind subsequent CC Final winner Chidiac, so the form reads very well for a Highway and her trials have been strong.

8 Beaumista (Bet Now: $8.50) has been freshened up since July 11 at Scone when first up, sitting on speed and just tired late. Like him back at 1000m and a recent trial was more than encouraging. One for exotics.

5 Avista (Bet Now: $2.20) looks a very progressive mare for Messara/Gavranich. She didn’t beat much at Muswellbrook last start but the manner in which she went about it and spanked her rivals was quite impressive. Good test here but confident she can measure up.

3 Persian Wonder (Bet Now: $14.00) steps up to 1400m after a first up win at Canterbury where he was one of the first off the bit but found under pressure and was strong to the line in scoring. Fitter and up in trip, he only runs well.

8 Magenta Skies (Bet Now: $5.50) is a handy mare for Michael Freedman that resumes, her last run coming in the Flight Stakes when outclassed behind Apocalyptic. Looks to have trialled well for the return, watch betting.

8 Deal N Dash (Bet Now: $11.00) was quite stiff three weeks ago over 2400m at Rosehill, getting badly held up and lost all momentum at the top of the straight. He was never a winning threat soon after but chased with purpose. He’s knocking on the door and this looks a race well within reach.

1 Masoun (Bet Now: $4.80) tried his guts out behind Le Troisir a few weeks back at Rosehill. He closed well from off speed but had no answers for the finale of the stablemate. Another that is racing well, ready to win, he commands respect.

2 Golden Century (Bet Now: $4.20) was pretty good in defeat three weeks back at this trip behind Le Troisir. He tried to make a sustained run from off speed but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Not sure I could back him to win but is one for exotics.

1 The Creator (Bet Now: $15.00) ran in a strong 88 two weeks ago here at this trip, sitting a fair way off the pace but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. Back to 78 grade, he only has to hold his form to prove hard to beat.

14 Leovanni (Bet Now: $6.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m two weeks ago in the Highway when on speed and she found under pressure to score. She’s in a real purple patch and commands respect.

5 Iceman (Bet Now: $41.00) was an eye catcher behind Sly Boots two weeks back. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he was pretty good late in the piece. If he can be within range, he’s dangerous.

5 Power Of The Brave (Bet Now: $23.00) is several weeks between runs since resuming at this track/distance when leading but copped heat and failed to fire late behind Zouripper, who is flying. Fresh legs and firmer footing, he can bounce back hard.

3 South Of India (Bet Now: $26.00) gave real cheek on speed two weeks ago over 1100m here. He gave a good sight but first up, condition just gave out late behind Hawker Hall. Fitter, back to 1000m, lands on speed, he’ll run a beauty.

4 Celui (Bet Now: $23.00) was a total forgive two weeks back behind Hawker Hall. He did too much work from the tricky gate and tired to finish down the track. He’s capable at this level and with a better run in transit, he’s dangerous.

13 Elliptical (Bet Now: $23.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he was quite good against the pattern, working home well behind Tazima. Fresh legs, down in the weights and firmer footing, he runs well at odds.

11 Poison Chalice (Bet Now: $6.00) is knocking on the door. He ran over the mile here a fortnight back, getting into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite go on with it. Getting towards peak fitness and rising to 1800m, firmer deck, he takes beating I say.

15 Sky Lab (Bet Now: $81.00) was sneaky good behind Rock Empire two weeks back. He was back near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he did make up ground and was pretty good late. If within range, he’s got the finale to take this out at a price.

2 Ninja (Bet Now: $5.00) looks ready to rock and roll. Michael Freedman trained four year old that resumes and looks to have returned in absolute beast mode off his trial work. He has looked full of running in the trials and I think is here to make an early statement re an Everest slot.

1 Angel Capital (Bet Now: $2.20) isn’t one of mine, I think he’s very much overrated, but this looks a race he can explode and spank them, but, he is a colt and his mind can be on other things at times. He is similar to Joliestar IMO in terms of being absolutely lethal fresh. If he can harness his energy better, he could easily just make a mess of these.

3 Napoleonic (Bet Now: $8.50) is first up for O’Shea/Charlton, a stable that is in dynamic form in recent weeks. He resumes, his last run seeing him finish down the track in the Kingsford Smith. Trial work has been pretty good and is another that goes well fresh.

2 Jellicious (Bet Now: $9.50) is knocking on the door for Chris Waller after her second to Sword Of Legacy three weeks ago at Rosehill, trying hard from just off speed but just found the filly a fraction too good. Racing well, she’s in positive form again and strikes a winnable race.

4 Super Bright (Bet Now: $23.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this trip at Rosehill. She got into a decent spot in transit and was there to win, at the very least threaten, but just whacked in the straight behind Sword Of Legacy. Firmer footing, little freshen up, she can bounce back.

12 West Of Dalby (Bet Now: $16.00) was close up behind Sword Of Legacy three weeks back at Rosehill. She was off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite quicken on the testing track. Firmer footing here, she’s a definite improver at odds.

1 Ready To Shine (Bet Now: $14.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1300m at Rosehill, trying hard to wind up from off speed but couldn’t quite get there behind Romeo’s Choice. Back to 78 grade, back to 1200m, he takes beating.

3 Columbia Blue (Bet Now: $3.70) is hard to beat after a win at Rosehill three weeks ago where he did a bit wrong but Nash threw him over the line and got him home. I think he is Stakes class, but mentally, he’s nowhere near the finished product. He appeals.

7 Mafia (Bet Now: $23.00) comes back to 1200m after racing in a 1300m Midway on June 27, landing on speed and tried hard but just found the end of 1300m a bridge too far behind Cold Brew. Back to 1200m with fresh legs, he’ll give cheek.
