Australian jockey Jamie Kah’s road to recovery has been given a positive update by champion trainer Peter Moody, who recently spoke with the star jockey about her progress following a serious race-fall last month.
Moody told RSN 927’s Racing Pulse that he had a quick chat with Kah and was delighted to hear that she is improving slowly. “It was just great to hear her voice,” Moody said. “She said it’s great to be home, I’m enjoying a bit of fresh air and I’m improving slowly, which was great news.”
Moody has been a vocal supporter of Kah, who he considers to be the face of racing for this generation. “She is the biggest thing in our sport, Gai Waterhouse has been the queen, this is the princess and we’re going to need the princess to step up and be the queen one day.”
Kah, who has been hospitalised and undergoing rehabilitation since the fall from two-year-old Flyball in the VRC Sires Produce Stakes at Flemington on March 11, remains positive and determined to make a full recovery. With Kah’s positive attitude, fans and industry insiders alike are eagerly awaiting her return to the track.
Moody concluded his statement by sending his love and best wishes to Kah and her family, adding that there is a long road ahead but a safe road. “We look forward to seeing her back, whether that’s in three, six or twelve months.”
