Bjorn Baker is weighing up a potential start for Stefi Magnetica in next Saturday’s Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes at Randwick, following her impressive victory in the G1 Doncaster Mile.
Baker said that the star mare has come through her win in great shape and could back up on Day 2 of The Championships.
Stefi Magnetica’s triumph marked her second Group 1 win, following last year’s success in the Stradbroke Handicap. The four-year-old has been a consistent top-level performer, with her latest run a close fourth behind Mr Brightside in the G1 Cantala Stakes.
If Stefi Magnetica wins the Queen of the Turf, she would become the first mare since More Joyous in 2012 to claim both the Doncaster and Queen of the Turf in the same autumn.
Stefi Magnetica is priced at $8 for the Queen of the Turf, with Fangirl the favourite at $2.50.
