27/6/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm, Tattersall’s Tiara day

Group l racing for the 2025/26 racing season wraps up this Saturday at Eagle Farm, with the Tatts Tiara (1400m) highlighting a nine event card. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out seven metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; Out six metres for the remainder.

7 Excenia (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after a win over 1110m at Doomben, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Harder here, more depth but off a win and rising to 1200m, she’s in the mix I say.

2 Sword Of Legacy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was down the track in the QLD Day Stakes three weeks back at this track/distance, doing too much work from the wide gate and was never a factor. Better suited here, she’s an improver at odds.

10 Grinzinger Champ (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with Danny O’Brien, she now finds herself with Jack Bruce. She did some nice things when last in work and looks to have trialled up well enough for the return so watch betting.

10 Caspernova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job. He’ll be strong late. Just depends what sort of start he concedes.

5 Town Crier (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should land on speed and only run well, as seen three weeks ago at this track/distance when on speed and fought hard in the straight but had to settle for a second to Soothsayer. Good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.

9 Bossed Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after resuming over 1000m here four weeks back. Market said he’d need the run and that is how it panned out behind stablemate and impressive winner Silver Wedding. Fitter, 1200m, tick over trial was good, leading contender.

6 Tannin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after a debut win over 1200m at Gosford when giving them a start and a beating, winning well against the older horses. The rise to 1400m looks ideal and the stable, especially with their juveniles, are FLYING.

11 Say You Will (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented filly for Team Munce that is yet to win in three starts but that doesn’t truly reflect her ability. She got too far back in the Oxlade two weeks ago but worked home with real purpose in a good effort in defeat. If she can settle closer, she’ll take holding out.

No idea what to make of the win from 2 Cool Gent (Bet Now:  $SP.00) in the Oxlade because he looked as if he was going to run last but he picked up and savaged the line to score. Extra 200m looks ideal off that effort and he has the runs on the board.

11 Red Hot Lizzie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will need luck from the draw but she is absolutely flying at present. Impressive win two back at Bowen before proving that was no fluke at Mackay when giving them a start and a beating. If she gets luck from the gate, she’ll take beating.

2 Revolt (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Jay Morris. He has won 10 of his 16 starts, the last three coming at Mt Isa, with the latest being over 1200m. He loves the 1200m, is very genuine and will give his all.

5 Roll Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix. He ran second at Cunnamulla last start, getting off speed and was held up at times but was pretty good late when clear. He should get room to move and be strong at the end.

8 Bestower (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was quite game in defeat last start on the Kenso. She tried to make a sustained run from off speed but on a day where up/in was gold, she was always going to struggle. This looks a race well within reach so with her best, I think she’ll run a beauty.

6 Geemes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love getting to 2100m after resuming over the mile at Randwick three weeks back, getting back to near last in the run but loved the way he finished his race off in defeat. Got enormous upside to come and if within range, she has the finale to take this out.

5 Extraordinaire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was 1700m back to 1600m when racing at Ramdwick three weeks back. She got back off speed and was never really a winning threat, but her finale behind Bravissima was solid enough. Not sure I could back her to win but is one for exotics.

5 Pounding (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win for the Moody/Coleman camp. He tried his guts out in The Q22 but the race shape was suited to the leader and eventual winner Royal Supremacy. He’s got the right form around him to say he’s hard to beat.

1 Asterix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) wasn’t suited by the race shape of The Q22 but he kept chasing and finding the line in a pass mark. Better suited at this level, he is a leading contender if he has petrol left in the tank.

4 Etna Rosso (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 2400m for Chris Waller after racing over 3200m in the Brisbane Cup two weeks back. He looked to be trucking in the run but when asked for the effort, the wheels were spinning and he didn’t run the trip. Much better suited here, he’s dangerous.

1 War Eternal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Bjorn Baker. Loved the way he dug in to win the Wayne Wilson two weeks ago because Yellow Jersey had the race won. Yes, that horse was tiring, but War Eternal really dug in when required. He should run a beauty once again.

2 Sun God… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is he a thinker? The case is there from previous preps and certainly last start in the Spear Chief because he dashed through and looked the winner, but War Eternal pegged him back to score. Maps to stalk the speed and will be around the mark…but he’s hard to trust.

11 Warby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was good in defeat behind War Eternal in the Wayne Wilson. He got off speed and was held up at times but kept chasing and finding the line in defeat. Firmer deck, he’s dangerous against these.

I’ve been hot on 17 Within The Law (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for this race for some time and won’t be dropping off. I thought she was very good in the Gunsynd given she was tardy away, had to use petrol to find a spot and I don’t think she was 100% happy on the bog. Back to 1400m, WFA, strong late, firmer deck…ticks a lot of boxes.

6 Gerringong (Bet Now:  $SP.00) trialled up like a rocket for Team Munce prior to resuming in the Dane Ripper where she chased strongly in the straight when second to She’s Got Pizzazz. Fitter and up in trip…connections desperate to get that big win, and off the return, she’s in the mix.

11 Ahha Ahha (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run in the Dane Ripper. Market kept her relatively safe at odds but she raced as if it was a barrier trial, just whacking to the line. Had trialled like a rocket prior and Waller in a Grand Final, I am not dismissing her.

16 About To Explode (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a horse I have been hot on the last few runs and won’t be dropping off. Thompson gave him a 12/10 in the Hinkler two weeks ago and looked as though he would get there but just missed when a close up third to Midnight In Tokyo. Think a firmer deck is ideal, he takes beating.

13 Fire Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks on track for the Ramornie and this should top him off nicely. That said, he can definitely win because he ran a beauty in the Hinkler, closing strongly from off speed. Getting towards peak fitness, he appeals.

9 Niance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) finds firmer footing and comes back to 1200m after racing in the Dane Ripper two weeks back where I don’t think she ran 1300m and the track was testing. Better set up here, she’s dangerous if there is petrol left in the tank.

BEST BET: Race Three Number 6 Tannin

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 1 War Eternal

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 17 Within The Law
