The $2.5 million All-Star Mile on March 8 at Flemington has received 53 entries, featuring some of the world’s top horses.
Among the nominations are four world-ranked contenders: Via Sistina (3rd), I Wish I Win (equal 24th), Mr Brightside (equal 35th), and Pride Of Jenni (equal 35th).
However, Pride Of Jenni’s participation is uncertain as the two-time Group 1 winner only returned to training last week, facing a tight timeline.
Trainer Chris Waller has a strong presence with seven nominations, including Via Sistina (Cox Plate winner, unlikely to run), Fangirl, Lindermann, Atishu, Molly Bloom, Private Life, and Scarlet Oak.
Ciaron Maher also has four horses entered: Pride Of Jenni, Light Infantry Man, New Energy, and Another Wil.
Other key entries include Melbourne Cup winner Knight’s Choice and Savaglee, the only New Zealand-based contender.
There are still four ‘win-and-you’re-in’ races left: Elms Stakes, Futurity Stakes, Australian Guineas, and Blamey Stakes, with winners securing automatic entry.
