Toorak Handicap winner, Attrition, has resumed training at Mitch Freedman’s Ballarat stables, eyeing a potential entry into the $4 million All Star Mile at Caulfield on March 16.
While plans for the four-year-old stallion’s 2024 campaign are underway, Freedman is considering strategic race choices to secure a spot in the prestigious event.
The Toorak Handicap doesn’t offer automatic entry, prompting Freedman to assess the “Win and You’re In” races preceding the All Star Mile, including the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes and Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield and the Group 2 Blamey Stakes at Flemington.
Freedman plans to finalize the campaign details after assessing Attrition’s condition in the coming weeks.
Attrition, delivering Freedman’s first Group 1 win, had been aimed at The Golden Eagle but was withdrawn due to a lameness issue, adding anticipation to his upcoming endeavours in 2024.
