Asfoora is on track to return to full work after a setback delayed her autumn campaign.
The six-year-old mare had originally been set to target the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning at Flemington.
However, trainer Henry Dwyer had to adjust his plans after Asfoora sustained a muscle injury.
“She’s been on the water walker and back in pre-training now,” Dwyer told racing.com.
“She just tore a muscle behind, so we had to back off her and take the Lightning out of the equation, which was a shame.”
Looking ahead, Dwyer is focusing on the Adelaide Carnival, with the Group 1 Sangster Stakes as a key target.
Asfoora is also expected to return to the UK to defend her Group 1 King Charles III Stakes crown in June.
“We’ll gear her up towards Adelaide and hopefully she can repay our patience there,” Dwyer said.
Asfoora hasn’t raced since August 23, when she placed fourth in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
