RANDWICK

RACE ONE

The market was spot on for a number of reasons in the Coolmore Pierro Plate (1100 metres).

Metallicity ($2-$3.20) was a big drifter on the day despite holding nearly five times the amount of money than any other runner.

TAB traders were proved right in taking it on but punters got it right with a few of the others backed to beat it.

Mumbai Jewel ($14-$6.50) pulled off a nice betting move as it swept to the front close to home, beating Sandpaper ($14-$7.50) and Rise Of The Masses ($8.50-$7) with Metallicity close up in fourth.

BETS: Mumbai Jewel $1,500 @ $11, $1,000 e/w @ $6.50/$2.20

RACE TWO

Highlights was one of the first horses backed on Wednesday and justified the early support by impressing in the TAB Highway Handicap (1800 metres).

Opening up at $6, today he was $4.80-$5 and went around as the most popular runner in a typically open Highway.

Leather Jacket Lew ($16-$9.50-$11) was $26 in opening markets while Smooth Esprit ($9-$6), also $26 earlier in the week, ran up to its backing as well.

BETS: Highlights $3,000 @ $5.50

BETS: Leather Jacket Lew $2,000 @ $12

RACE THREE

The move for Outlandos paid dividends when it was a runaway winner of the Bisley Workwear Handicap (2400 metres).

The son of Dissident ($5-$3.90-$4) was specked throughout the day and although firming, he didn’t hold anywhere near as much money as the race favourite.

Casino Kid ($3.30-$3-$3.50) was more than twice as popular as anything else in the race and the only one to hold six figures with TAB.

BETS: Outlandos $1,000 @ $4 TWICE, $1,000 @ $3.90

RACE FOUR

Specking at longer odds for Invincible Kiss paid dividends for her backers when she took out the Midway Handicap (1000 metres).

Invincible Kiss ($21-$16) was tried late and after sitting one-one, peeled out at the top of the straight with Reece Jones getting the best out of the mare to overhaul Esteemed Lady ($14-$11) with the well backed Delexo ($2.90) in third.

Mabel ($4.60) and Capital Reign ($2.30-$2.80) were most popular outside Delexo.

RACE FIVE

Silent Agenda was relatively unwanted in the George Mullen Farewell Mile (1600 metres).

The Joe Pride-trained galloper was $21 in the morning and although coming in to $16 at the jump, only had very light backing compared to some of his more fancied rivals.

Yiyi ($2.40-$3.10) was once again very costly for its backers after going around with 57 percent of the total investment.

Opacity ($12-$9.50), an $18 chance on Wednesday, Omudgee ($11-$8.50) and Savoury ($7.50-$5.50) were all firmers.

BETS: Yiyi $4,000 @ $3.20

RACE SIX

Lost And Running landed a number of big bets for his backers in the Southern Cross Stakes (1200 metres).

John O’shea’s stable star was hammered from $3.20 in the morning and crunched into $2.10 favourite at the jump. Overall, he commanded nearly half the total investment on the race and was nearly five times as popular as the next best supported, which was King Of Sparta ($4.80-$8.50).

BETS: Lost And Running $5,000 @ $2.80, $3,000 @ $3.40, $2,307 @ $2.30, $2,000 @ $2.30, $3,700 @ $2.25, $5,000 @ $2.10

BETS: Overpass $3,000 x $2,000 e/w @ $6.50/$2.10

BETS: Embracer $2,500 @ $9.50

RACE SEVEN

Favourite backers were sent packing when Fangirl knocked off the heavily spruiked stablemate in the TAB Light Fingers Stakes (1200 metres).

Espiona ($1.55-$1.60-$1.55) held more money than any other runner across the country today, accounting for 65 percent of the total investment on the race.

In fact, Fangirl was the third most popular (only narrowly behind Jamaea) but was responsible for just a tenth of the money that was riding on Espiona.

Of the others, Jal Lei ($71-$15-$31) was a noted mover throughout the day.

BETS: Fangirl $1,500 @ $11

BETS: Espiona $40,000 @ $1.60, $5,000 @ $1.60 MULTIPLE TIMES, $10,000 @ $1.55 TWICE

RACE EIGHT

Think It Over defied the betting drift to take out The Agency Apollo Stakes (1400 metres).

Kerry Parker’s stable star opened the day $4 but reached $7 just minutes out from betting before a late push saw it come into $5.50.

Always popular with TAB customers, Think It Over went around as the third most popular in terms of money held behind Verry Ellegant and Colette ($5.50-7.50).

Very Elleegant ($4.80-$4.20-$4.40) held more than double the two abovementioned runners.

I Am Superman ($10-$6-$8) was a big firmer and ran a good race from the front to dead-heat for fourth with Hungry Heart ($23).

BETS: Think It Over $10,000 @ $6

BETS: Kolding $3,000 @ $19

RACE NINE

The money for Snapdancer was spot on after she was an impressive winner of the Robrick Lodge Triscay Stakes (1200 metres).

Support for the Maher & Eustace runner came immediately once markets opened on Wednesday and it didn’t stop there. Today, she was $3.70-$2.90 and was twice as popular as anything else in the race.

She proved to be a horror result for TAB.

BETS: Snapdancer $10,000 @ $3, $3,000 @ $3, $3,000 @ $2.90

BETS: Mirra Vision $3,600 @ $7.50, $5,000 @ $7

RACE TEN

Le Gai Soleil ($4.80-$6) went around as the most popular runner with TAB customers for the running of the Sharp Extensive IT Handicap (1300 metres).

The John O’shea-trained runner came with a big burst from back in the field to sweep past her rivals and record an impressive win, landing a big blow to TAB in the process.

Bound To Win ($5.50-$7.50-$6.50) was the second most popular in front of Shes All Class ($5-$6.50) while Matowatakape ($12-$9.50) had admirers.

CAULFIELD

RACE ONE

Favourite backers didn’t get the best of starts to the day with the heavily tried In The Boat going down in The Big Screen Company Handicap (1400 metres).

Although starting the day $1.80 and getting to $2.15 at the jump, In The Boat was the first horse backed when markets opened on Wednesday. He was responsible for 65 percent of the total investment.

Paperboy ($8-$5.50) nearly landed a nice move but it was Unanimous ($5.50) that came over the top from the rear to get the money.

Unanimous was the most popular outside the fav, however, held nearly a fifth of the money that In The Boat did.

BETS: Unanimous $1,400 @ $5.50, $1,000 e/w @ $5.50/$2.40, $1,000 @ $5

BETS: In The Boat $3,300 @ $1.80

RACE TWO

Coastwatch defied the drift to land the money in the Hyland Race Colours Autumn Stakes (1400 metres).

The Chris Waller galloper opened $3.80 on Wednesday but by the time the race rolled around, TAB customers were being offered $5.50.

Going around as the second most popular galloper behind the heavily backed Decent Raine ($4.60 on Wednesday, $2.80 today), Coastwatch held off the fast-finishing Burning Power ($34) with Lucky Decision ($6.50) winding up third.

BETS: Coastwatch $20,000 @ $5.50

RACE THREE

Lofty Strike provided an upset in the Blue Diamond Prelude for Colts & Geldings (1100 metres).

While most of the attention was riding on Jacquinot ($2.70) and Counttheheadlights ($4.60-$3.70-$4.20), Lofty Strike (10-$11) hovered around the same mark in betting for most of the day after attracting light interest.

Jamie Mott timed his run perfectly on the Julius Sandhu-trained son of Rubick who went on to beat Semillion ($4.80-$7) and Daumier ($6-$8) with the two favourites just behind the placegetters.

BETS: Jacquinot $1,000 @ $2.90 MULTIPLE TIMES, $3,000 @ $2.80

BETS: Counttheheadlights $1,500 @ 44.20, $2,000 @ $3.70

RACE FOUR

Revolutionary Miss stormed over the top of her rivals to take out the Blue Diamond Prelude for the Fillies (1100 metres).

The Team Snowden runner, scratched from Sydney to go around in this, attracted some money but nothing when compared to the likes of Miss Roseiano ($4.40), English Riviera ($4.80-$6.50) and the big firmer No Digity ($6.50-$4.80).

Revolutionary Miss ($9-$12-$11) went on to beat Miss Roseino, who was the most popular runner, with English Riviera holding third after leading.

BETS: Revolutionary Miss $1,000 e/w @ $12/$3.50

BETS: Englis Riviera $3,000 @ $4.80, $2,000 e/w @ $4.80/$1.95

BETS: Miss $4,000 @ $4.20, $2,500 @ $3.70

BETS: No Diggity $4,600 @ $4.80, $2,000 @ $4.80

RACE FIVE

Argentia arrived right on the line to knock off the well backed Scorched Earth in the Senet Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200 metres).

The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained filly flew home to beat Scorched Earth ($3) who was nearly twice as popular as the next pick in the market, Mallory ($5-$4.60).

Argentia ($7.50-$9.50) had her admirers and was the fourth most popular runner in terms of money held, with Asfoora ($6) slightly in front of it.

BETS: Argentia $2,000 @ $9.50, $1,650 @ $8.50, $1,000 @ $8.50 TWICE, $1,500 e/w @ $7.50/$2.40

BETS: Scorched Earth $3,000 @ $3, $5,000 @ $2.90

BETS: Mallory $2,000 @ $4.60 TWICE

RACE SIX

In what was a very open betting affair, Earlswood took out a thrilling edition of the Keno T.S Carlyon Cup (1600 metres).

The Maddie Raymond-trained galloper touched $17 at one stage in betting before a late rally saw it start $13.

An imported entire, Earlswood knocked off Callsign Mav ($9.50-$4.60-$5) right on the line after it looked as though the Kiwi was about to land a nice betting move of his own.

In a race where every single runner attracted some sort of decent support, Open Minded ($3.10-$4.80) was the most popular in front of Yonkers ($12-$8.50).

BETS: Earlswood

BETS: Callsign Mav $3,500 x $2,405 e/w @ $5/$1.80

RACE SEVEN

Most of the money was riding on Marine One which did the right thing by its backers by finishing best in the McCafe Rubiton Stakes (1100 metres).

The Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace-trained galloper was backed from $4.40-$3.20 favourite, landing good bets in the process.

Artorius ($3.80-$3.90-$3.70) was the favourite in the morning but was pushed down to the second line of betting, while Ingratiating ($5) had its usual support too.

BETS: Marine One $5,000 @ $3.40, $2,000 @ $3.20

BETS: Artorius $3,000 @ $3.70

BETS: Oxley Road $2,000 @ $5

RACE EIGHT

Tofane was much too strong for her rivals in the CF Orr Stakes (1400 metres).

The Mike Moroney-trained mare raced on speed throughout and powered through the line, proving too good for Lighthouse ($9-$12-$10) and Cascadian ($21-$13).

Tofane ($6.50-$8-$7.50) attracted its usual support, however, was overshadowed from a betting perspective by the likes of Im Thunderstruck ($6.50), Behemoth ($5.50-$4.20) and Sinawann ($4.20-$4.40). Those three horses accounted for 65 percent of the money on the Group One.

BETS: Tofane $1,200 @ $7.50, $1,000 @ $7

BETS: Sinawann $10,000 @ $4.40, $7,440 @ $4.20

BETS: Behemoth $3,500 @ $4.20

RACE NINE

She left it late but one of the ‘good things’ of the day got the job done in the Lamaro’s Hotel Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes (1200 metres).

Probabeel ($1.75) opened $2.20 on Wednesday but that price didn’t last very long. She was odds-on for most of today and did bottom out at $1.60.

Going around as one of the most popular horses all day, with only Espiona in Sydney holding more, Probabeel dominated betting here with 75 percent of the total investment. She was extremely popular with multi players too.

Flying Mascot ($4.20) attracted a big bet late and was best tried of the others.

BETS: Probabeel $6,500 @ $1.75, $11,871 @ $1.70, $6,100 @ $1.70

BETS: Flying Mascot $10,000 @ $4.20
