RACE SIX – TAKEOVER TARGET STAKES
The big push for Enchanted Heart paid dividends in the De Bortoli Wines Takeover Target Stakes (1200 metres).
TAB went up $6 about the Kris Lees runner on Wednesday and she was the first horse backed.
Firming into $4 almost straight away, $3.70 was still available this morning.
Sheer weight of money saw her crunched into $2.60 and take favouritism away from Easy Eddie ($3-$2.70) which itself stole the top line of betting from Signore Fox ($3.20-$5).

RACE SEVEN – GOSFORD GOLD CUP
Punters wanted to be on Polly Grey and she delivered the goods in the Gosford Gold Cup (2100 metres).
The Chris Waller mare was $3.20-$2.70 on the day and after enjoying a good run close to the speed, finished too well for her rivals.
Young Rascal ($15-$9) was a decent go at eachway odds while Wu Gok, initially $23 on Wednesday, went $8.50-$13 but ran his usual honest race for third.

RACE EIGHT – THE COAST
Brandenburg had good specking all week and was pretty solid today in betting for the running of the inaugural The Coast (1600 metres).
Hovering around the $8-$8.50 mark for most of the day, TAB had gone up $11 about his chances on Wednesday.
Jumping at $8, Brandenburg wasn’t anywhere near the most popular runner in terms of money held – that honour going to Nudge ($6.50) just in front of Wheelhouse ($6-$4.60) with the latter a big firmer after opening $10.

GOLD COAST
RACE FIVE – KEN RUSSELL MEMORIAL
Punters were nearly bang on the money with Ranch Hand going around as a heavily tried favourite in the TAB Ken Russell Memorial (1200 metres).
The Chris Waller-trained runner was crunched from $2.70 in the morning to start even money. Unfortunately for his backers, Subterranean ($8-$10) arrived in time to upset the party at eachway odds. The Matt Dunn runner didn’t carry a great deal of money but then again neither did anything else outside the fav.
Such was Ranch Hand’s popularity that he went around with 10 times the amount of money than any other runner.
Overall, Ranch Hand was responsible for 70 percent of the total investment.

RACE SIX – JOHNNIE WALKER GOLD COAST BRACELET
The decent push for Grace And Harmony paid dividends in the Gold Bracelet (1800 metres).
TAB Fixed Odds had the daughter of Sebring rated a $7 chance in the morning, however, by jump time $5 was being offered.
Tycoon Evie ($4.20) went around as favourite and held the most money.
Of the others, Only Words ($12-$9.50) was a firmer throughout the day while Signora Nera ($7.50-$7) had admirers.

RACE SEVEN – BRANDONS GOLD COAST GUINEAS
Marboosha went around as one of the more popular runners in the Gold Coast Guineas (1200 metres).
Backed from $5-$3.20 favourite, Marboosha landed some nice bets even though Rocketing By ($5-$4.40) overshadowed her in the popularity stakes.

RACE EIGHT – TAB A.D HOLLINDALE STAKES
Zaaki did the right thing by his backers when racing clear for an impressive win in the Hollindale Stakes (1800 metres).
TAB had the Annabel Neasham-prepared galloper at $6 in the morning but heavy support throughout the afternoon saw him crunched into $3.60.
Zaaki ended up stealing favouritism from Avilius ($3.90-$4.60) while others that had good money riding on them were Fifty Stars ($8-$9.50).
Avilius held the most money and was twice as popular as the winner while Melody Belle ($7.50) was the second best tried outside of Avilius.

RACE NINE – SILK STOCKING
Yamazaki defied a slight betting drift to race away to an impressive win in the Silk Stocking (1400 metres).
Opening at $6 this morning, the David Pfieffer-trained mare went out to $9.50 at the jump but did attract some specking at the eachway odds.
The big mover here was Maui Girl. She was $14 in the morning and was hammered into $4.60 favourite.
MORPHETTVILLE
RACE SEVEN – TAB SOUTH AUSTRALIAN DERBY
Explosive Jack went around as the most popular runner in the TAB South Australian Derby (2500 metres).
While the son of Jakkalberry was $3.90 favourite, he was being challenge for the top spot in betting by Personal ($4.60) which had been a noted firmer throughout the week and again, into today. TAB had her at $6 after the field was released on Tuesday.
Deepstrike ($5.50) carried some good bets also and was the only other runner outside of the abovementioned pair who held six figures with TAB Fixed Odds.
Overall, Explosive Jack was responsible for approximately 25 percent of the total investment.
