THE James Cummings-trained Trekking is headed to The TAB Everest at Royal Randwick on October 17 with Max Whitby selecting the six-year-old gelding for his slot in the world’s richest race on turf.
Trekking who is currently $15 at TAB for The Everest has attracted good support in betting this week including a single bet of $2,000 each-way at $15/$4.50.
Trekking is a dual Group 1 winner having saluted in last year’s Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm over 1400 metres and this year’s The Goodwood at Morphettville in May over fellow TAB Everest aspirant Gytrash.
Trekking resumed with a runner-up finish to Pippie in last Friday night’s Moir Stakes at The Valley over 1000 metres.
TAB’s representative for The TAB Everest, Nature Strip, is currently the $3.50 favourite.
