Apocalyptic headlines classy Thousand Guineas field
Apocalyptic will chase Group 1 glory in Saturday’s Thousand Guineas, with Mark Zahra taking over the ride from Tommy Berry, who remains in Sydney.
Flight Stakes placegetter Karinska has travelled south for the 1600-metre feature and will be partnered by Nash Rawiller.
Other key contenders include Ferivia, Ole Dancer, Getta Good Feeling, Just A Journey and Salty Pearl, all aiming to stamp their mark on the spring’s premier fillies’ race.
Yum may also line up, though connections could instead opt for the 2000-metre Ethereal Stakes on the same program.
With Steel Trap, Ethereum Girl, Chateau Eze and Mating Call also in the mix, this year’s Thousand Guineas is shaping as one of the deepest in recent memory.
