The race for the Golden Slipper 2026 has become more unpredictable following today’s races, with seven horses now exempt from the ballot.
Plenty of horses bid for the last of the spots in the Golden Slipper field on Saturday in the running of the Pago Pago Stakes and the Magic Night Stakes with Queensland filly Pembrey stamping herself on the race however connections will need to pay the $150,000 late entry fee if she is to line-up in the race.
Boom colt Warwoven raced back into Golden Slipper contention after winning the Magic Night Stakes and is now guaranteed a start in the race if connections opt to race the horse three weeks in a row.
Cheyan still remains favourite for the race but Bookmakers have it as a lottery with it being $5 the field and one of the most open editions of the race in recent history with no horses stamping themselves as the one to beat.
