Australasian Oaks:
Adelaide comes under the spotlight with a huge day’s racing, the highlight the Group One Australasian Oaks (Race 6).Southern Speed is a talented filly and definitely the one to beat. She has a wonderful turn of foot, is bred to get the distance and should win here.
Our traders think she only has one danger and that is Lights Of Heaven. She is lightly raced and even though she could lead, will appreciate the bigger track at Morphettville. Shylight caught them napping last start courtesy of Glen Boss and she loses him here and is a risk, while our traders again think that Placement will remain a maiden. Precious Lorraine is the best ‘roughie’ in the race looking for this distance and wants a dry track.

Robert Sangster Stakes:
Race 7 is the Group Two Robert Sangster Stakes over 1200 metres and it a classy affair. The early mail is that Crystal Lily will run Friday night so on the back of that our traders are certain that Beaded is the horse to beat here. She is such a consistent horse and the last start third behind Black Caviar augers well for her back to mares grade. There will be good speed in the race with Avenue so look for her to settle then sweep home. Response will also appreciate being back against her own sex but is hard to see her beating Beaded. Avenue, as always, is the horse to catch in front and at some stage will look the winner. Dubleanny won well first up but this is a tougher assignment and she is rated as a ‘lay’.

Adelaide Guineas:
In the Adelaide Guineas (Race 5) Happy Trails has to run out the mile, but if he does our traders are confident he can win. He hit the line brilliantly last start behind Shrapnel and there should be enough speed in the race for him to unleash his powerful finish. Aintnofallenstar fizzed in Melbourne in the Kewney behind Do Ra Mi and that will prove to be a good form race. He is back to Adelaide where he won two starts back. Population will be the on-pace runner and he will be hard to run down, while Condelago is in form. Spirited Eagle has drawn so wide he will be ‘pulling beers at the Morphett Arms Hotel’ and even Clare Lindop can’t get him to win from there so he is a ‘lay’.
