Melbourne’s premier rider Luke Nolen will compete in Japan this weekend before heading to Hong Kong for another jockeys’ challenge next week.
Nolen will take part in the World Super Jockeys Series at Japan’s Hanshin Racecourse on Saturday and Sunday.
Black Caviar’s regular rider will be one of eight international jockeys joining seven Japanese representatives in the two-day series comprising four races.
Hong Kong-based Australian jockey Brett Prebble is also among the invited riders for the Japan event.
Nolen leaves Melbourne on Wednesday morning for Japan and will be out to emulate Craig Williams who won the series in 2007.
Williams also finished second to UK jockey Ryan Moore last year.
After Nolen competes in Japan, the two-time Melbourne premiership winner will head to Hong Kong to take his place in Wednesday week’s International jockeys’ championship at Happy Valley.
He’ll be back in action in Melbourne on Saturday week.
