A nine event meeting has been set down for Doomben on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is out a metre for the entire circuit.

10 Triple Money (Bet Now: $8.50) is flying for Paul Shailer and for mine will love the rise to 2000m. He has caught the eye in both runs back, the latest being over the mile here two weeks ago where he got back to near last and while he was never a winning threat, I really liked the way he finished his race off. If he’s within range 400m out, I think good luck beating him.

12 Intuitu (Bet Now: $12.00) is knocking on the door. Neasham/Archibald trained gelding that ran a fortnight back over 2200m here. He tried hard and was there to win but couldn’t quite get the win, finishing third. I do think back to 2000m is a big tick and commands some form of respect.

1 Bold Bourbon (Bet Now: $23.00) has a good record at the trip and I think is racing as if he’ll appreciate getting to it here. He ran over the mile three weeks back at this track when off speed and kept on but was never really a threat behind Sizzling Gal. Gets in well after the claim and I think only runs well at odds.

Last time that 10 Castillian (Bet Now: $3.80) won, Moses was parting the Red Sea. That said, I do think he is racing very well at present. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he got back, spotted those in front too much head start but was good late. If he can be within range, he has the finale to be quite dangerous and is surely ready to win.

2 Set To Shine (Bet Now: $3.70) is a beauty for Tony Gollan. Three weeks between runs since a track/distance win, leading throughout and getting complete control and credit to her, she was there to be run down but she found under pressure to get the win. Good racing style and will take running down.

7 Ready Azz Eva (Bet Now: $9.00) commands respect for Rob Heathcoate. He ran a close up third a fortnight back at this track/distance, getting back off the speed before coming wider and finishing off his race strongly, just missing out on picking up Hell. Racing well, knocking on the door to win and strikes a winnable race.

2 Helluva Barty (Bet Now: $2.30) is a son of Hellbent for Matty Hoysted that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Jan 13 in The Syndicate on Magic Millions Day at the Gold Coast when a narrow second to Derry Grove. He has been given a good break and his recent trial was very good. Keen to see how he goes.

1 Devastating (Bet Now: $10.00) can improve out of sight for Tony Gollan and is a key threat. He resumed at the Sunny Coast a few weeks back. He got run off his legs early and was never really a winning threat but his finale was more than sound in defeat behind Avone. If he can settle closer, get a drag into the race, he’s dangerous.

5 Simbu (Bet Now: $17.00) can bounce back for Tony Gollan. He was unwanted in betting late when racing at the Sunny Coast a few weeks back. He was near the speed throughout and tried his guts out but just lacked the change up speed to go with them late in the piece behind Avone. Like him up in trip and finds a winnable race.

4 Daytona (Bet Now: $3.90) was bursting to win for Matty Dunn this prep but kept finding one or two better. That all changed three weeks ago at this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating via a well timed run under Maloney, finishing best out wide. His confidence is up and he can certainly go on with it.

12 I See You Coming (Bet Now: $3.80) can run an improved race on firmer footing. He ran here three weeks ago on testing ground and tried hard but he couldn’t quite quicken on the surface behind stable Set To Shine. On a track that is firmer vs last time, I think he’s dangerous.

1 Devil’s Throat (Bet Now: $23.00) has really gone off the boil in recent times but we know his best is more than good enough. He hasn’t raced for four weeks since racing at the Sunny Coast in his first run for Mark Currie and didn’t disgrace himself in defeat behind Liquor. Fitter and up in trip, kind map, knockout chance.

8 Ivan’s Hero (Bet Now: $3.90) is getting near D-Day but I do feel he finds a winnable race here. He ran third at this track/distance three weeks ago and on paper, seemingly had his chance, but he didn’t really get the clearest of paths in the straight and the track was testing. Firm deck, hopefully gets room to move, wind into his work…I dare say it’s nearly D-Day.

9 Naval Trader (Bet Now: $3.80) looks to have returned in pretty good order and should appreciate a rise to 1350m. He resumed three weeks ago here over 1200m where he got into a lovely spot just off the speed and was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there when a close up third to Daytona. Fitter and up in trip, he appeals.

2 Alburq (Bet Now: $31.00) is a Brian Smith trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 3 when down the track at Eagle Farm behind the then in form Daytona Bay. He is a horse who can sprint well on the fresh side and has trialled up nicely in readiness. One for exotics.

7 Otyrar (Bet Now: $16.00) does tend to save his best for Brisbane so I think returning here, I think he’s worth a throw at the stumps at odds. He ran over 1800m at Rosehill four weeks ago in the Premiers Cup Prelude where he got back and was never a factor when down the track behind Golden Path. Back to this level and back to a track he loves, he will do me each way.

1 Red Wave (Bet Now: $21.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile. The Ipswich Cup winner ran behind Tidal Creek a fortnight back. He got into a decent spot just off the speed and tried hard but lacked the change up speed to go with them late in the piece. Like him up in trip and has class.

2 Sneak Preview (Bet Now: $23.00) is a David Vandyke trained gelding that was 2200m back to the mile when racing here two weeks back and I think didn’t do a bad job in defeat, closing off well from the back behind Tidal Creek. Up in trip again is a big tick and prior form suggested a win wasn’t far off.

1 Mishani Lily (Bet Now: $1.70) is the class of the field and that class, I think, gets her home. She resumes and is now under the care of Donna Stanbridge after being with Les Ross. The 2YO Jewel winner resumes and although is better suited over slightly further, she is effective at the short course and has trialled up really well.

12 Tipsy Tiger (Bet Now: $15.00) has done little wrong in two career runs and commands respect for Tony Gollan. She was a dominant on speed winner when debuting at Ipswich before going to 1200m at Kilcoy when near the front and tried her guts out but found one better. Has that run under the belt, back to 1110m, she appeals.

8 Herbie Town (Bet Now: $23.00) looks a three year old with talent and I say is hard to beat here. He ran three weeks ago at this track/distance when somewhat thrown in the deep end and I thought he didn’t disgrace himself at all in defeat from off the speed behind Defiant Boom. One to be entertained for exotics.

4 Rockribbed (Bet Now: $3.70) is a beauty for Tony Gollan and he does appear to be enjoying life in the Sunshine State. Three weeks between runs since a track/distance win where he got complete control in front and that allowed him to kick on strongly in the straight, fend them off and win. Hard to knock the way he’s racing and is one of the hardest to beat.

5 Secret Plan (Bet Now: $5.50) is flying for Richard Litt. Loved the ticker he showed to win at Rosehill two back before coming here three weeks ago where he was there to beat Rockribbed but just couldn’t quite get past him. Racing in very good form and has to be respected as one of the key chances.

6 Ned’s Gully (Bet Now: $7.00) looks to be in for a good prep. Paul Wallace trained gelding that resumed here a few weeks back when off the speed and chasing from a fair way out but I really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat behind My Snow Queen. Fitter and up in trip, he appeals.

6 Victory Win (Bet Now: $2.30) is the way I am leaning. I thought his track/distance win from two weeks ago was impressive. He was able to build momentum and had clear air but I thought Tannenburg was there to beat him but he was strong and in the end, edged clear late. He’s racing really well and does appear to be the straight bat play.

13 Tannenburg (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing really well at the moment for Chris Waller. He ran second to Victory Win a fortnight back and I thought had his chance despite getting held up and had to duck/weave for clear air, but he was out in time and on the line, Victory Win was holding him. I think with room to move and time to build, he’s dangerous.

1 Nikau Spur (Bet Now: $21.00) looks to be ticking along beautifully towards the Toowoomba Cup and I think this could easily be a winning stepping stone. He was several weeks between runs when racing over the mile two weeks ago here and he was an eye catcher, closing off nicely behind Tidal Creek. Better set up here, can settle closer, hard to beat.
