Nine races have been set down for Morphettville Parks. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is out eight metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; Out five metres for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:02) Festival Hire Maiden Plate 1250m
9 Sector (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) takes beating for Phillip Stokes since racing over 1000m here when first up. She got off speed and was chasing from the outset but she kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat Esha. Fitter and up in trip, depth not as deep this time around, she rates highly.
4 All Too True (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran at Mount Gambier last time when four and five wide the trip but despite that, he loomed to win. Just couldn’t quite get there when second to Pianta. That was over 1400m so back to 1250m is fine, he he is a key chance.
1 Aramoso (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has had a few chances to break the maiden tag but that said, he is racing well and shouldn’t be too far away, as seen two weeks back at Murray Bridge behind The Indigo Falcon. He got into a decent spot behind the speed but just whacked to the line. One for exotics.
Race 2. (12:37) PFD Food Services Handicap (68) 1000m
4 Been Our Angel (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a key threat. He was game on speed at Murray Bridge two weeks ago when wide no cover on speed and he fought hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when nabbed late by Grand Host. If he gets a more economical run on speed, he takes beating.
2 Mine All Mine (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a beauty for John Macmillan that has won two on the bounce, both at Murray Bridge over 900m and 1000m respectively. The latest win saw him win over 1000m and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found. Confident he measures up.
5 Bristler (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes through the Grand Host race mentioned above when on speed, doing work, and did try hard but being first up, condition just gave way late in the piece. Better for the run, in well after the claim, he’s dangerous.
Race 3. (13:12) Sportsbet Handicap (78) 2400m
1 Lake’s Folly (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has found winning form and I think he can go on with it for Michael Hickmott. That win came two weeks ago at Murray Bridge where he appreciated the mid race burn, was survival of the fittest and he was the fittest on the line. Great record on the Parks track, he takes beating.
4 There Goes My Hero (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) ran second to Lake’s Folly a fortnight back at Murray Bridge. He was on speed throughout and given the mid race burn, he was entitled to knock up, but he stayed on and was quite good in defeat. Front end control, he’s dangerous.
2 Dixie Whistler (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is one to be entertained for exotics. She ran behind Lake’s Folly at Murray Bridge from two weeks back when leading but copped mid race pressure, was off the bit and just whacked to the line late in the piece. Good record here, she’s around the mark.
Race 4. (13:47) Hahn Handicap (Class 2) 1400m
1 Synchro (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) was a dominant track/distance winner three weeks ago when leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively, albeit it was a day where up/in was dynamite. Heading in the right direction, hard to beat.
4 Even Sharper (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He landed in a good spot near the speed and he did try his guts out but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Falanghina. Maps ideally, genuine, ready to win, has to be respected.
7 Astrodean (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m last week at Gawler where he held a forward spot from the inside gate and he did try hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Trantoro when third. Not sure I could back him to win but a must for exotics.
Race 5. (14:22) Sportsbet Handicap (76) 1250m
4 Colmar (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks to have returned super and is the one to beat after a first up win over 1300m here three weeks ago where he was absolutely trucking on speed before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Hard to ignore him given that return and how dominant he was.
3 Great Maximus (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) was a strong winner at Murray Bridge a fortnight back. He got a sweet sit in transit just off the speed, tracked up with purpose, before angling clear and let down with a strong finale to score. He’s fine on wet ground, hard to beat.
1 Jacks On Ice (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came behind Great Maximus two weeks back at Murray Bridge when on speed and gave a mini kick but condition just gave out late in the piece. Good record here, I am not penning him.
Race 6. (14:57) Sportsbet Handicap (76) 1550m
10 The Mansman (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) for me. He ran two weeks ago at Murray Bridge where he got back, wide with cover, and tried hard, but just couldn’t quite finish his race off behind Novela. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and be effective late.
4 Tahnee Treasure (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is knocking on the door. She loomed to win at Murray Bridge a fortnight back and for a few strides, she looked like she would kick back but she eventually had no answers late for Snoopy Now. Commands respect against these.
7 Annihilate (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes through the Novela race mentioned above. He too was wide with cover throughout and kept finding the line but did have his chance I thought. Maps ideally here and has placed at the track/distance previously.
Race 7. (15:32) Aceit Transport Solutions Handicap (66) 1000m
7 Daisydoo (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is racing really well at present for Justin Pickering and is one of the key chances. She won last week at Gawler, leading throughout over 1100m and she gave nothing else a look in to win quite impressively. Short course specialist so is suited at 1000m and with her racing pattern, she’ll give herself every chance.
1 Dobbinair (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is in the mix for Team Cahill. He ran over 1200m on the course proper on April 26 when taking on the older horses and worked home quite well late in the piece behind Beauty Rising. Don’t mind him back to 1000m, he’ll be strong late and has class.
6 Truly Elsa (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes back to her own age after racing against the older horses two weeks back at Murray Bridge where she was tardy away and that sealed her fate when down the track behind Grand Host. Track/distance winner, I wouldn’t dismiss her.
Race 8. (16:12) SkyCity Handicap (62) 1000m
Landed with 2 Magic Field (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) but not a whole lot of confidence. He resumed several weeks ago on the course proper where he did work to hold the lead and that early burn just told on him late in the piece, feeling the pinch late behind Voltage Point. Looks the leader here and with the claim, he appeals.
13 Hooked On Wealth (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Francis/Kent trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Dec 28 over 1200m on the course proper here when just off the speed but battled late in the piece behind Kinetic Jewel. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and has trialled nicely.
11 Aztec Dancer (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Searle/Callinan trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Nov 2 over 1050m on the course proper here when far from disgraced in defeat behind Startide after getting back in the run. She is a mare who can sprint well fresh and has trialled well.
Race 9. (16:48) Grand Syndicates Handicap (68) 1400m
9 Cullen Skink (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran behind Snoopy Now two weeks back at Murray Bridge when off speed and was never really a factor but he was far from disgraced in defeat. That said, he was 1200m to 1600m so he has that run under the belt, he’s hard to beat.
2 Voltage Point (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has a good record on the Parks track and I think is racing in pretty good form. He ran two weeks back at Murray Bridge when off speed and kept chasing but did have his chance when a close up fourth to Novela. Should be around the mark at this level.
4 Proven Correct (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Andrew Gluyas since resuming over 1250m here. He was on speed throughout and he tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through when a close up third to Merhcant Boss. Like him up in trip and I think he’ll be better with a bunny to chase.
