Nine races will be run and won at Morphettville Parks this Saturday where the Carnival starts to warm up. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; True for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:52) Skycity (Bm72) 1250m
3 Dual Pressure (Bet Now: $3.20) looks like he’s going to win more and more races in SA for Bain/Taylor. First run for the stable came on Adelaide Cup Day on the course proper here when on speed and was trucking before being clicked up by Stubby and he found strongly late to win. Upside/improvement to come, he’s the one to beat.
7 Three Rings (Bet Now: $4.20) ran third to Dual Pressure on Adelaide Cup Day. He got off speed and was chasing from a fair way out but kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. If within range, he has the finale to be quite dangerous.
1 Hopon Harry (Bet Now: $61.00) is an Andrew Gluyas trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since April 20 last year when down the track over this track/distance behind Sweetened. He does go well at this track, recent trial was good…I say watch betting and see what it does.
Race 2. (13:27) Sportsbet Fast Form Hcp (C2) 1000m
1 Japanese Emperor (Bet Now: $8.50) is a very interesting runner. He makes his SA debut for Clarken/O’Shea and they are a gun stable when it comes to a tried horse. He is better suited over further but can sprint well fresh and launch at them late. Watch betting but think he can kick off life in SA a winner.
3 Sir Now (Bet Now: $1.70) looks the leader and from there, he takes running down, as seen last Saturday on the course proper when leading and looked home but was nabbed late Out Of Square. Good racing style for this track and hard fit, he’ll look the winner for a fair chunk of the race.
9 Wadaana (Bet Now: $19.00) was a surprise track/distance winner two weeks back, leading throughout and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and score. Harder here, but with an on speed racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.
Race 3. (14:02) Quayclean (Bm80) 1950m
2 Watadeel (Bet Now: $12.00) is one that can be considered as a key threat. He comes through the CS Hayes where he got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but just lacked the class to go with them late in the piece. Back to this level, he commands respect.
6 Dual Fuel (Bet Now: $6.50) has found winning form and she can go on with it for Peter Hardacre after a win over 2250m here three weeks ago where she was bursting to win and did so in impressive style, breaking a run of outs. She is a leading chance despite coming back in trip.
5 Dixie Whistler (Bet Now: $41.00) does tend to save her best for the Parks track and is one of the key prospects off her placing here two weeks back. She got off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat when third to Exalted Fire. Hard fit now, she’ll be strong late…definite threat.
Race 4. (14:37) Dequetteville Stakes 1000m
3 Sisstainable (Bet Now: $1.70) picks herself I feel. Team McEvoy trained mare that resumed over 1000m at Sandown when off speed throughout and she tried hard, closing strongly, but just missed out on the win. Has the right form around her to say she takes a power of beating.
7 Blue Hotel (Bet Now: $4.60) is a well bred filly for Clayton Douglas that is on debut. She has had a few jumpouts in readiness for start one and each time has moved with real purpose without being fully extended. The market says she is here to play, so watch betting.
2 Frothy Macaw (Bet Now: $31.00) is in the mix for Matty Seyers after a win here two weeks ago, getting the beaut sit in behind the speed before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. She has always shown good talent and off a win, is one of the leading contenders.
Race 5. (15:12) Croser (Bm68) 1400m
10 The Journo (Bet Now: $3.40) is hard to beat. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he got off speed and kept chasing with purpose when second to the in form Fine Future. He has that 1400m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead here.
5 Fine Future (Bet Now: $3.00) has been up a little while for Stephen Theodore but is racing well and is a last start winner, that win being over this track/distance when giving them a start and a beating to win and win well. Great record on the Parks track, he rates highly.
8 Give Some Lip (Bet Now: $7.50) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday on the course proper here where she got back and failed to come on. But, post race she was found to have had a slow recovery, so a clear forgive. Her best is good enough.
Race 6. (15:47) Sportsbet Same Race Multi Hcp (64) 1550m
6 Bolted In (Bet Now: $9.00) did a really good job in defeat two back on Adelaide Cup Day behind Hard Prince. He then went to Mount Gambier Cup Day and thought he was there to win but was no match late for West Cliff. Has run well on the Parks track before and is a definite contender.
5 The Golden Fist (Bet Now: $3.60) has been up a while and is one of the leading contenders. He ran third to Pacific Jewel three weeks ago. He got a fair way out of his ground and made up decent headway late in the piece to finish third. If he can settle closer, he’s dangerous.
15 Streetcar Apollo (Bet Now: $10.00) should be fine at 1550m. He ran over 1400m here two weeks back when on speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through, tiring late behind Fine Future to finish third. I think with a more conservative run in transit, he’s dangerous.
Race 7. (16:27) H C Nitschke Stakes 1400m
1 Stay Focused (Bet Now: $2.00) comes back to 1400m for Phillip Stokes after a win over 1500m at The Valley last time when leading throughout and yes, the pattern was in his corner, but he was still strong and impressive. That was against the older horses so back to 1400m, back to his own age, he appeals.
8 Matisse (Bet Now: $2.80) is capable with her best. She ran here three weeks ago where she had a decent run in transit and she tried hard, but couldn’t quite get there behind a good horse, Winnasedge. Has that 1200m run under the belt, she is one of the leading contenders.
3 Justa Star (Bet Now: $15.00) has been up a little for Andrew Gluyas but it’s hard to knock the way he’s racing at present. He comes through the Morphettville Guineas where he led throughout, at a solid tempo, and tried hard, but just felt the pinch late. If that hasn’t busted him, he can win.
Race 8. (17:07) Adelaide Galvanising Industries (Bm72) 1000m
10 Suzido (Bet Now: $3.50) is flying for Stephen Theodore and is one of the leading contenders. She put together a couple of wins on the bounce before racing here a fortnight back when on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when a narrow second to Wadaana. Hard to knock the way she’s racing.
12 Geminga (Bet Now: $19.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming at this track/distance. She had a suck run on the fence and tried hard but couldn’t finish her race off and was a bit on the plain side late in the piece. Great second up record so that is the saving grace for her.
1 Magic Max (Bet Now: $15.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing in the Manihi on Adelaide Cup Day when outclassed on paper and was never really a factor behind Sir Sway. He does save his best for this track/distance and will be charging at them late.
Race 9. (17:55) Aaron Bain Racing Hcp (64) 1250m
2 Richie D’Amour (Bet Now: $2.60) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday on the course proper here. He got a mile out of his ground but loved the way he closed off late in the piece behind Star Sirius. If he can settle closer, be within range, he’ll take holding out.
12 Cuban Waters (Bet Now: $4.80) commands respect off a last start track/distance win, leading throughout and credit to her, she was there to be run down but showed good ticker late to fend off a handy one, Nurys. She’s found winning form, she can go on with it.
3 Even Sharper (Bet Now: $23.00) should be better for the first up run, which came at this track/distance when off speed and chased with purpose via a rail hugging ride when third to Cuban Waters. Better for the run, can settle closer in the run and takes beating.
