Back Me

4 Killiako (Bet Now: $3.80) is a filly with good talent. Lot to like about her maiden win on the Parks track last time. She was absolutely trucking in the run, just a matter of getting clear air, and once she got it, away she went and she was dominant. Harder here, but ideal map and is heading in the right direction.

Danger

1 Takshaka (Bet Now: $5.50) is a Lord Kanaloa colt that is on the up. Debuted on somewhat testing ground at Casterton when on speed and fought hard for the win, but was strongest late in a good effort. Stable rarely get it wrong when they come to SA, so keen to see how he goes in a race where there is depth to it.

Long Shot

6 Second To Nun (Bet Now: $6.00) is a progressive filly for Will Clarken. She was a real eye catcher on debut on Balaklava Cup Day behind a handy one, Lucky Fortuna. She then went to the course proper here when ridden with intent, sitting near the speed and was there to be run down, but found plenty under pressure and was too good. Confident she measures up.

Race 2. (13:27) Chalk Hill Wines (Bm72) 2250m

Back Me

1 Sebonna (Bet Now: $4.00) looks to be right on track. He was far from disgraced in the Murray Bridge Cup behind Agreeable before going to 2000m on the course proper here two weeks ago and I thought worked to the line really well behind Oath Of Omerta, beaten just over a length. Hardf fit and up in trip, I think she’s a great bet.

Danger

2 Oath Of Omerta (Bet Now: $2.15) has found winning form. Can he hold it? He was a definite pass mark fresh behind Yuri Royale before going to the 2000m on the course proper two weeks back and was strong late in winning. You’d think there is upside to come being only third up and appeals big time as a key winning chance.

Long Shot

3 Toyetic (Bet Now: $8.00) is a knockout hope. Market wanted him at odds when resuming in the Gawler Cup but unfortunately he was wide throughout and that hard run just told late, finishing down the track behind Montign, but far from disgraced. Straight to 2250m second up, but this is a massive drop in grade/depth.

6 Who’s Clang (Bet Now: $3.50) is the interesting runner. Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. On breeding, you’d think he would be much better suited at 2000m+ but his trials have been pretty good, enough to suggest a forward showing is on the cards, so watch the market. I think he’s the one.

Danger

7 Laila’s A Gem (Bet Now: $8.50) has been pretty good in two career outings. Debuted with a narrow second at Jamestown before going to Murray Bridge where she attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but couldn’t quite get there when third to Tickety Boom. Last bit will test, but she’ll look the winner for a fair chunk.

Long Shot

3 Monseagle (Bet Now: $21.00) is a son of Free Eagle for the Richards/Moyle camp that resumes. He hasn’t raced since July 16 here in the Oaklands when outclassed and down the track behind He’s Heaven. 1000m fresh tells me this may be a prep run but he will be strong late.

Race 4. (14:42) Pfd Foods (Bm64) 1550m

Back Me

Fitter and slightly up in trip, I am in the corner of 4 Disagreeabe Miss (Bet Now: $5.50). Mick Huxtable trained mare that was solid fresh behind a very much in form East Indiaman. She had a tick over trial and ran two weeks ago over 1500m on the course proper when back in the run and was good late behind Alsvior. Hard fit now, in a very winnable race I feel, she’ll do me.

Danger

1 Exalted Fire (Bet Now: $3.00) is racing in a real purple patch at the moment for Michael Hickmott. Last couple of runs have come over the mile distance range on the course proper, the latest coming a fortnight back where he was hailed as the winner when he hit the front but had to settle for a narrow second to Boolcunda King. Hard to knoc the way he’s racing.

Long Shot

5 Getouttheway (Bet Now: $11.00) tends to save his best for Gawler but I think he brings the strongset form line to command respect. He was thrown in the deep end last time in the Gawler Cup and he ran an absolute beauty when a close up fifth to Montign. Any hint of that form here and he’ll win. Just needs to prove he can do it away from Gawler.

Race 5. (15:22) Pimms (Bm86) 1000m

Back Me

7 Daring Move (Bet Now: $2.60) has come back in really good order for Team Jolly. 2/2 this time in, winning a few weeks back on the Parks track and she was there to be run down but despite wandering about under pressure, she found plenty under pressure to win and win well. Good test here, but confident she measures up again.

Danger

3 Spanish Heirloom (Bet Now: $9.50) will jump on the bunny and run a bold race. She ran over this track/distance three weeks ago when leading and giving a very strong kick but was no match late for Diamonds, just feeling the pinch late. Fitter, with her racing style, she’ll look the winner for a fair chunk of the race.

Long Shot

Market will be interesting with 1 Alleboom (Bet Now: $12.00), a Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since July 16 at this track/distance when producing an end of prep run behind Spanish Heirloom. Given a good break, he can sprint well fresh and his recent trial was strong.

Race 6. (16:02) Happy 90Th B'day R Butler-Bm60 1300m

9 Parisienne Monde (Bet Now: $3.10) is knocking on the door to win one and I think she gets a great chance here. I reckon back to 1300m is a big tick for her. Ran over 1400m here last time and on the turn, she looked like she would threaten East Indiaman, but 1400m was a bridge too far and East Indiaman is flying. Back to 1300m, more patient steer, she’s the one for me.

Danger

7 Texan Windstorm (Bet Now: $7.00) is a consistent animal for John Macmillan that broke a long run of outs when winning at Balaklava last time, settling just off the speed and finished best in a driving go to win. He’s around the mark more often than not and overall, this is a winnable race.

Long Shot

2 McCain (Bet Now: $21.00) is dangerous with his best. His last couple of runs have seen him finish behind an in form Bamyan Buddha, the latest being a fortnight back where he spotted them a start but his finale was more than sound I thought when fourth. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll take beating.

Race 7. (16:42) Croser (Bm82) 1550m

Back Me

Happy to side with 12 Hopon Harry (Bet Now: $2.80). Strange placement last Saturday I thought when 1300m back to 1100m and he just couldn’t dash in a race where Philonize just jumped, ran and gave nothing else a look in. I am hoping the thought process was last Saturday was a prep run for this, because he is much better suited at 1550m, on the up and maps well.

Danger

4 Oh Mo (Bet Now: $7.50) is knocking on the door. He arguably should have won the Balaklava Cup two back. He then went to the Murray Bridge Cup and was good late from the back behind Agreeable. Was down to run last Saturday in the John Letts but was a late scratching so I’m really not sure here re how he is going, but purely off form, he appeals.

Long Shot

13 France’s Boy (Bet Now: $26.00) is getting on in years, but isn’t racing too bad and has the right racing pattern for this track. He was on speed last time in the Gawler Cup and copped heat. He gave a strong kick and fought on well. Just couldn’t quite finish it off when a close up fifth to Montign. If this track is playing dynamite on speed, he comes right into play.

Race 8. (17:20) Furphy (Bm64) 1000m

14 The Gov (Bet Now: $6.00) has to be given another chance. I was keen on her last time out on the course proper here when back and nearer the inside, just not finishing the race off at all behind Rich Gina. I think she needs to be outside horses, and if that can eventuate, she can bounce back.

Danger

3 Saskatoon (Bet Now: $2.90) deserves another look. He resumed two weeks ago over 1200m on the course proper here where the market said he had three legs and ran accordingly, finishing down the track behind Outpost. Back to 1000m I find interesting but his best is certainly good enough.

Long Shot

9 Tanja’s Dream (Bet Now: $34.00) is racing well for Grant Kluske. She chased strongly on Gawler Cup Day last time and for a few strides, looked like she would win, but was no match late for a very much in form Magic Phantom. Honest mare that does try hard and this isn’t a strong race.

Race 9. (18:00) Fleurieu Milk Company (Bm68) 1400m

Have to stick with 1 Neodium (Bet Now: $4.00). He’s flying this time in for Phillip Stokes. Last two starts have resulted in dominant wins over 1550m on the Parks track, each time seeing him lead throughout and was just too tough for them. If he can continue his vein of form, he’ll likely win again.

Danger

16 Metro Legend (Bet Now: $5.00) is a key threat for me. Aaron Bain trained gelding that resumed two weeks ago on the course proper here where he did work from the wide gate to land just off the speed, creeping into the race and he tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when thirdd to Outpost. Fitter and up to 1400m, he appeals.

Long Shot

4 Next Dimension (Bet Now: $14.00) looks to be in for a good prep. He resumed a fortnight back here and was a real eye catcher from near last on the turn when fourth to Outpost, beaten just under two lengths, and clocked some of the better late splits of the race. Might want one more, but the return was quite encouraging.
