Big Danger: 1 Magic Consul (Bet Now: $4.80) comes here off the back of a tidy effort in the Country Cup behind Killarney Kid. He is the class runner and should take some beating.
Roughie: 4 Straight Jacket (Bet Now: $7.50) attempted to lead all the way last weekend at Fleington and gave a strong kick when third to Name The Day. Looks the leader again and will give you a sight at odds.

Race Two (12:35) : VOBIS Gold Stayers 2400m:
Back Me: 5 Oncidium Ruler (Bet Now: $4.80) looked close to a good thing last time out at Cranbourne and despite some nervous moments, he got the job done. Poorly weighted against some of these, but has upside and is a true stayer.
Big Danger: 3 Bondeiger (Bet Now: $2.50) looked unlucky when racing here a fortnight back, getting badly held up in what was a really messy race won by Scherzoso. This is D-Day for him because he is so well weighted and is at peak fitness.
Roughie: 2 Honey Steels Gold (Bet Now: $51.00) returns to the flat after a stint over the jumps, which ended with a fourth in the Kevin Lafferty. Capable flat horse on his day and shouldn’t be underestimated.

Race Three (13:10) : Brian Reckas Handicap 1000m:
Back Me: 3 Crafty Cop (Bet Now: $2.60) resumes here for Team Hawkes after two runs in the Autumn, including a placing behind Attention. Rosehill trial was sharp and she immediately heads south.
Big Danger: 8 Kentucky Miss (Bet Now: $4.20) could not have been ridden any better by Sam Clipperton to win first up at Wyong, with the ride clearly winning the race. Her form is solid and Williams takes over.
Roughie: 2 Sword Of Light (Bet Now: $15.00) comes here instead of SA for the Lightning which does strike me as odd given there was blacktype over there to be won. In saying that, she is a quality filly who resumes for the Ellerton/Zahra stable off the back of impressive jump out efforts. Hard to beat for sure if she can get cover from the horror draw.

Race Four (13:48) : John Skewes Handicap 1200m:
Back Me: 11 Conspicuous Maid (Bet Now: $31.00) was a short priced elect last start on the Pakenham Synthetic and she looked home but was nabbed late by Sweet Clementine. On her home track now and back on the turf. Great each way bet.
Big Danger: 3 Anatola (Bet Now: $3.40) is getting close to D-Day for her. Ordinary first up run followed by a close up second to Majestic Lass. Draws well, gets the claim, peak fitness…ticks the boxes.
Roughie: 9 Sky Dazzle (Bet Now: $21.00) was solid when resuming at the Valley before racing here when down the track behind impressive winner Ocean Embers. She is better than that and can easily bounce back.

Race Five (14:25) : Helen Egan Handicap 2000m:
Back Me: 2 Alamonteel (Bet Now: $4.80) ran last Saturday on the Parks track and though only beat a four horse field, the win was dominant and a timely confidence boost. Stable is flying and this is a winnable race.
Big Danger: 1 Hursley (Bet Now: $3.90) was a strong winner here two back before racing again at this track and running very well in running third. He has found his form now and he can continue the purple patch.
Roughie: I thought 12 Comeback (Bet Now: $41.00) was a milk drinker. He still might be, I’m not sure. But he did break the maiden tag last start at Mildura in what was a very, very thin maiden. This is a thin race too and now he has won a race, he could go on with it.

Race Six (15:05) : Debra Coombs Handicap 1200m:
Back Me: 1 Vibrant Rouge (Bet Now: $7.50) looks one of the better bets on the program. She ran a beauty here last start where she was wide no cover for the trip and made up good ground late. Should be at peak fitness and should just about knock this field off.
Big Danger: 8 Butterboom (Bet Now: $3.60) is on the back up after racing a couple of weeks back at Rosehill where she sat on speed and fought on very well behind Isorich. Joe Pride horses always respond well on the quick turnaround and espscially on the road.
Roughie: 3 Rockolicious (Bet Now: $7.00) creates some good interest here. Former Waller horse now under the care of Darren Weir. We know the record he has with tried horses, especially Chris Waller horses.

Race Seven (15:45) : Thebigscreencompany.com.au Bletchingly Stakes 1200m:
Back Me: 5 Charmed Harmony (Bet Now: $17.00) is a class animal that resumes for John Sadler. He ran well during the Winter in Brisbane but was simply outclassed. Recent jump out was sharp and he loves Caulfield.
Big Danger: 3 Fast ‘N’ Rocking (Bet Now: $3.20) comes here through the Monash where he had no luck at all in the straight behind Wild Rain. He has the fitness edge and loves racing at 1200m.
Roughie: 12 Runway Star (Bet Now: $7.00) is a quality mare that resumes for Phillip Stokes. She beat up a pretty strong field last time out in the Proud Miss during the Adelaide Carnival, a race where there has been several subsequent winners. Trial was great and stable come to Melbourne first up, which is always a good lead.

Race Eight (16:25) : Ladbrookes Odds Boost Handicap 1400m:
Back Me: 11 Kinshachi (Bet Now: $6.50) is on the back up after racing last Saturday at Flemington where I thought she was very good in defeat behind Stylemaker given she was back in the run in a race dominated by the leader and eventual winner. She should sit much closer from the good draw here and rates as one of the hardest to beat.
Big Danger: 2 Prince Of Brooklyn (Bet Now: $5.50) comes here off the back of a very good effort in the Creswick at Flemington when close up behind Lord Von Costa. Back on his home track now and should be at peak fitness.
Roughie: I was keen on 10 Twisting Typhoon (Bet Now: $18.00) here a fortnight back but gee he was a major flop after sitting back in the run. The run prior was a beauty on that run here, he is a contender.

Back Me: 5 Magicus (Bet Now: $3.40) is the one with upside and looks the one to beat. He was super here first up before going to the Valley where he led all the way and was dominant. He can continue the winning form here.
Big Danger: 8 Marwood (Bet Now: $8.00) comes here after being a real eye catcher here a fortnight back when a close up fourth to I’m Ablaze, beaten half a length. He is knocking on the door to win and he gets his chance here IMO.
Roughie: 2 So Does He (Bet Now: $13.00) ran here a fortnight back and closed off strongly from the back behind I’m Ablaze. The win prior was dominant and if he can sit closer here, he is a major threat.
