3/1/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Randwick

Ten races have been set down for Randwick on Saturday. Weather is fine, track is soft (5) and the rail is out a metre for the entire circuit.

2 Knightsbridge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Farnan colt that resumes for GaiBott after debuting in the early part of the Spring in the Maribyrnong Trial when raw, new to the caper and just whacked late after early burning of petrol when fifth. Given a good break, looks to have trialled well, watch betting.

6 Profitabelle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Bjorn Baker trained filly that is on debut. She won a trial last Tuesday at Rosehill over 900m and while the margin was narrow, I thought she went about her business quite nicely. Stable is flying with their juveniles, she commands respect.

8 Thyme To Go (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an I Am Invincible filly for Team Archibald that debuts off the back of a couple of trials, showing significant improvement in the second trial when winning and running solid time. Keen to see how she goes.

4 Mount Bona (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a mare for Messara/Gavranich heading in the right direction. Big win in the Highway a few weeks ago at Rosehill, sprouting wings late from off speed to score in impressive fashion. Good test here again, but think the Randwick mile will suit and has be one of the hardest to beat.

1 Navy Buoy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a dynamic winner of the Highway two weeks ago here. He was ridden with clear intent to find the front and from there, he gave nothing else a look in and was quite dominant in the run to the line. He’s in a purple patch and only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

15 Hallonic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) landed nice bets when a last start Taree winner over the mile, sitting on speed and despite being there to be beaten he found under pressure to fend them off and win. On the minimum with a kind draw, he’s one for exotics.

I wish he was resuming at the Provincials but I can’t let 6 Clancy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) go without me. I think he is absolutely humming for Ron Quinton. Looked to jog in the first trial in readiness for this and then the second trial, what I liked is that when asked, he responded immediately. Form around him reads strong, just needs luck from the gate and I think he wins.

4 Zaragoza (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1100m after racing three weeks ago over 1200m here. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good late in the piece behind Oui Oui Oui, who won again last Saturday to frank the form. Back to 1100m I like, racing well and should be around the mark.

9 Let’s Go Again (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was kept safe at odds three weeks back in the Midway here. She got a suck run near the speed and was there to threaten but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch. Like her back in trip and she’s a knockout hope.

9 Climb The Ladder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win. Looked all over the winner when the gap appeared here two weeks ago and he dashed, but just found one better in stablemate Willie Oppa in a driving go. Third up, hard fit, he’ll be strong at the end, he appeals.

10 Willie Oppa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Chris Waller that was knocking on the door to win and that came a fortnight back here, driving hard late out wide and just got there in a driving go. He’s found winning form, he can certainly go on with it.

6 Perfect Justice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well for John Sargent. He ran in the Midway two weeks back at this track/distance when near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second to The Mona Lisa. Racing well and should be around the mark.

10 Alabama Fox (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was backed with real confidence when racing two weeks ago over 1400m and in the run, the plunge looked like it would come off but she had no answers late for the finale of Amplify. Stable is flying and she strikes a winnable race, especially right down in the weights.

7 Pretty Powerful (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed with a bang at Warwick Farm over 1400m, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance, letting down with purpose late to score. Has returned strongly, good upside to come, he commands respect.

8 Invader Zim (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1500m after racing over 1400m here three weeks back. He got back in the run and was held up at times but was solid late when eventually clear behind Theblade. I think with room to move, he’s in the mix here.

9 Aroha Stone (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in beast mode for Nathan Doyle and I am confident she can measure up. Trialled up like a rocket prior to resuming on the Beaumont track at Newcastle where she was absolutely trucking on speed before being clicked up and she went through her gears like a good horse to win. I think she’ll run a beauty against these.

2 Changing Colours (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well for Chris Waller and is one of the hardest to beat after her first up effort a few weeks ago at Rosehill when off speed and was held up at times but loved the way she closed off late in the piece when second to Bella Corazon. Fitter, she takes beating.

3 Super Nui (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Amplify two weeks back and she didn’t have the best of luck in the run, getting held up at times but was good late when eventually clear. I think with a more positive steer, room to move, she can take this out.

Landed with 3 Cigar Flick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but gee this race looks a punish. This mare resumed behind King’s Secret two weeks ago here and was quite good late without threatening, closing well to run fourth. If she can use the inside gate and be within range, she’ll be hard to hold out.

9 Dollar Magic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance. Scott Singleton trained mare that ran third to King’s Secret a fortnight back at Randwick, sitting off speed and was good late without really threatening when third to King’s Secret. Hard fit, 1200m, she’s in the mix.

6 Junqueira (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a big improver potentially. Bit on the luckless side two back at Newcastle behind Brave One before going to the Just Now at Eagle Farm where she didn’t fire a shot and was plain behind Midnight In Tokyo. Better suited here, not dismissing her just yet.

9 Sunshineinmypocket (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat after his last start track/distance effort two weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing but was never really threatening behind Know Thyself. If he can settle closer and be within range in the run, he’ll take holding out.

7 Step Aside (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a sharp winner two weeks ago over 1300m here, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. He looks to have returned really well and rising to 1400m, he should prove hard to beat once again.

10 Midnight Opal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hit and miss but is capable. Luckless two back at Newcastle before going to Rosehill where I was quite keen on his chances but he didn’t appreciate the solid tempo and just whacked late behind Grid Girl. Maps to get a suck run and be effective late.

2 Hawker Hall (Bet Now:  $SP.00) got front end control a few weeks ago at Rosehill and that was the difference between winning and losing, just getting that midrace breather and had enough in hand to score. Good racing style, she takes beating.

9 Massira (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Matty Dale trained gelding that was a sharp Highway winner last time out over 1000m here, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Maps to get a sweet run near the front and only runs well.

1 Gatsby’s (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the interesting runners on the card. He was being talked as a Group l horse once upon a time but he hasn’t gone on with it and is now with Joe Pride after formerly being with Chris Waller. Trial work has been encouraging, watch the market.

2 Barazin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is suited here I feel for Kris Lees. He ran a few weeks ago over 2000m at Rosehill. He got off speed into a reasonable spot in transit and I thought was there to threaten but just couldn’t quite produce the change up speed when fourth to stablemate Kind Words. Strikes a winnable race, he’s hard to beat.

17 Deal N Dash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix. O’Shea/Charlton trained gelding that ran over the mile here three weeks ago and kept chasing in a good effort behind Hyperbolic. Like the rise to 2000m for him and he strikes a very winnable race.

15 Fay’s Angels (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix for Karen Owen. Last couple of runs have come over 1900m at Canterbury, the latest seeing her ridden cold and she found the line pretty well in defeat I thought behind Pleasure Artist. Racing well and is always thereabouts in these kind of races.

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 2 Hawker Hall

LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 9 Aroha Stone
