Toowoomba will host its biggest race day this Saturday, headlined by the Weetwood (1200m) and Toowoomba Cup (2000m). The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

10 Express Code (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1000m for Mark Currie after a spank job debut win over 870m here, leading throughout and was just far too nippy for them in a sharp display. Good test here, but confident she can measure up.

1 Bossed Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will launch late if within range on the turn. He resumed over 1110m at Doomben where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good late in the piece. He’ll spot them a start but will be one of the strongest at the end.

5 Show Me Mercy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town off the back of a placing over this trip on the home deck at the Sunny Coast when near the speed and fought on really well in defeat I thought when third. Not sure he wins but can run top four.

5 Express Payment (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks hard to beat for Rob Heathcoate. His last run resulted in a win over the mile at Doomben when leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. Two trials under the belt have been strong and looks prepped up to run really well.

1 Our Magnus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has class on his side and that is going to carry him a long way here. He resumed over 1100m here a fortnight back when near the speed and loomed to win but just couldn’t quite get there. Better for the run, he appeals, especially with the claim.

6 Runwiththetide (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1110m two weeks back at Doomben. He got back to near last in the run and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Troika. Fitter, likely can settle closer in the run and be effective late.

5 Bright Blonde (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Doomben when off speed and she kept chasing but was never really threatening behind About To Explode. That form does read well for a race like this and is a key chance.

1 Phenom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with GaiBott, she now finds herself with Team Archibald. Her last run was the SA Oaks when down the track and failed to run the trip out behind Benagil. 1200m is on the short side but does have a good record at it and has trialled well.

11 Blue Chip Girl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has home track advantage and is dangerous at odds. She ran over 1300m here last start when getting a fair way out of her ground but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off in defeat. Maps to settle closer and be effective late.

5 Exceed Speed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing really well at present for Tony Gollan and is one of the hardest to beat after winning two on the bounce, the latest being at Doomben two weeks ago when given a gun ride by Thompson to finish best and score. Confident he measures up.

2 Free Carry (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard fit and found positive form after a flop two back. Last start he attempted to lead throughout and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Simply Amazing. If he gets some form of front end control, he’s dangerous.

6 Canberra Legend (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix. Formerly with Chris Waller, he now finds himself with Peter Robl. He ran a few weeks back at Doomben over 2200m when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a decent kick but just felt the pinch late. I think with a more patient steer, he can run an improved race.

12 Kinross Lane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat for Mark Currie. She ran over 1100m here when giving them a start and a beating, producing good change up speed to win and win well. Rising to 1300m suits and strikes a winnable race.

10 Take A Picture (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has home track advantage and appeals after a last start romp at Doomben when getting the sweet sit in behind before angling clear and he made an absolute mess of them. Draw is tricky, but hard to ignore last start.

11 Sun Worshipper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has home track advantage and has to be respected. She resumes for Matty Kropp, having not raced since the QLD Oaks when down the track and was never a factor behind You Wahng. Likely will spot them a start but should launch late and can win.

4 About To Explode (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a big win over 1200m at Doomben. The win was extraordinary given he was back near last and looked in a hopeless spot but loved the way he let down when clear. Keen to see how he goes against these.

1 Substantial (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1350m at Doomben three weeks ago when off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good late in the piece. If he can settle closer, be within range, he can take this out.

17 Chinchilla Ahead (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a solid on speed winner here four weeks ago, there to be beaten but he really found under pressure to fend them off and score. Not sure he is good enough to win here but can be entertained for exotics.

10 Queen Air (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks like she has been set for the race and is the one with upside/timing to my eye. She ran two weeks ago at Doomben when off speed and did keep on chasing but was never really threatening behind Kronenbourg. Like her up in trip, strong late and stable would love to win this race.

3 Caboche (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like a rise to 2000m suits. He ran over the mile at Doomben a fortnight back when ridden with intent to land near the speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through but was close up and far from disgraced in defeat behind Kronenbourg. Like him up in trip and strikes a winnable race.

8 Kettle Hill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at the Gold Coast when off speed and was held up at times but was good late in the piece. His best is good enough so I am not dismissing him.

9 Ka Bling (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was purchased by connections, you’d assume with eyes purely on one race, which is here. He has had two runs for the Hatch stable, each time looking in need of the run, but three weeks ago, he was far from disgraced behind Bunker Hut. He’ll be strong late, hard fit, he can win.

7 All That Pizzazz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won this race two years ago and is on track to do it again. He ran over 1110m a fortnight back at Doomben when off speed when on speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Party For Two. Like him up to 1200m. Just hoping for a more patient steer.

14 Tavs (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Mark Currie trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 7 in the Spear Chief when far from disgraced behind a good horse, Transatlantic. He will be better over further but will be strong at the end and has trialled well to my eye.

6 Foreign Press (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps back up to 1200m after going back to 1110m two weeks ago at Doomben, sitting on speed before being clicked up and away she went to dominate her rivals. This race looks no harder and the extra 90m should be no issue.

1 Worthy Enuff (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m after resuming over 1110m at Doomben. He was keen in the run, quite fresh, and while he kept chasing with purpose, he was never really threatening Foreign Press. Better for the run, he’s in the mix.

7 Ha’Penny Hatch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. She resumed behind Foreign Press two weeks back at Doomben where she just found them a bit sharp but kept finding the line in a pretty good effort in defeat. If she can settle closer and be within range, she has the finale to be dangerous.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 5 Express Payment

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 9 Ka Bling
