27/7/2024 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Belmont, HG Bolton Sprint day

9 Supernatural (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Adam Durrant trained filly that is on debut off the back of some nice trial work, her lone trial this prep being at Lark Hill last week and moved well enough to my eye when running second. Tricky draw, but not a deep race and she seems to have talent.

3 Cleanemup (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Market wanted him with confidence when debuting at this track/distance and the market got it right. He sat near the speed and dug in late when required to get the win. Proven on wet ground, good racing style and in a good camp for juveniles. Leading chance.

1 Gold Maker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Universal Ruler that resumes for Russell Stewart. He hasn’t raced since the Perth Stakes in the Autumn when outclassed, finishing down the track behind Everest contender Bustling. Resumes without a trial but brings the A1 form so watch the market and see what it does.

2 Russian Sniper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is back to 1000m but he’s a beauty for Adam Durrant and is just so genuine. He has placed in nine of his past ten runs, but it will be interesting to see him at 1000m after racing over 1200m three weeks ago, trying hard but just couldn’t quite get there when a narrow third. If the 1000m is fine, he’s dangerous.

5 Ultimate Command (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Rommel for Neville Parnham that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since May 11 at Ascot when wide no cover on speed and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Lucky’s Way. Short course specialist and does sprint well fresh so she gets a good set up here. Watch the market.

4 Wednesday (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is second up here for Cliff Green after resuming at this track/distance two weeks back when near last in the run, sitting wide throughout and just couldn’t get involved when down the track behind Supportive. Good track/distance record so I am not dismissing her yet.

2 Doctor Jay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to his own age and with that in mind, I am happy to be in his corner. He ran at this track/distance two weeks ago. He was keen behind the speed when racing two weeks ago and loomed to win but just couldn’t quite see it through when beaten narrowly by a nice horse, Berbere. If he can relax in the run, he takes beating.

1 Kings Salute (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t done much wrong this time in and for mine, commands respect. He ran over 1500m last Wednesday at Pinjarra where he got into a decent spot behind the speed and worked home with purpose, just missing out on the win when a narrow second to Little Silver. He’ll be strong at the end and is one of the key chances.

7 Skytalker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Indianna Weinert since racing at this track/distance when back near last in the run but unleashed a strong finale in defeat when third to Romming Danger. Late splits were quite good and if he can handle give in the track, he rates highly.

3 Final Siren (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in what looks a two horse race. Michael Lane trained three year old that was a strong winner two weeks ago at this track/distance, getting the suck run in transit behind the speed before angling clear and in a driving go, he was too good for them in a tight go. Maps to be on speed again, he is a line finder and to me, it’s hard to get away from him.

6 Ginnivan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the key threat. He attempted to lead throughout and gave such a strong sight but couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Final Siren in a close go. He is drawn tricky but will press forward and be hard to run down, but the first 100m-200m and how much work he does will determine his claims.

7 Harmika (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Rogano that resumes for Adam Durrant. This mare is first up, having not raced since Feb 17 at Pinjarra when down the track in the Breeders Classic behind Petula but did look a tired horse. She is a mare who does sprint well on the fresh side and has trialled nicely leading in.

3 Starry Heights (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Team Williams trained gelding that resumed two weeks ago over 1400m here where he seemingly had every chance behind the speed but couldn’t quite finish the race off and was a bit on the plain side late in the piece behind Triple Jay. He is 5/5 at the mile and 4/4 at the track/distance so you’d think there is a lot more intent this time around. Hard to beat I say.

4 Allez Allez (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Michael Lane and has a good racing style. He ran in the Triple Jay race from a fortnight back when leading and giving a very strong kick but couldn’t quite see it through when a narrow second to Triple Jay. Like him back up in trip and if he gets front end control, he takes beating.

7 Benji’s (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing as if he will love the rise to the mile. He ran fourth in the Triple Jay race from two weeks back where he wasn’t really suited by the sit/sprint set up but he stayed on and was solid enough in defeat. He’ll appreciate the extra trip and with a more genuine tempo, he’s dangerous at odds.

6 Wango Award (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gets another chance for me. I was quite keen on this mare when resuming two weeks ago over this track/distance but she was quite keen in the gates, fractious, then got back in the run and was never a factor so just forget she went around. Her win prior was outstanding so forgiving for one poor run and happy to have her on top again.

1 Fluro Neuro (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing as if he’ll love the rise to the mile. He ran over 1400m a fortnight back here where he got a fair way back but loved the way he found the line late in the piece when second to Speed Dream. Unknown at the trip, but racing as if he’ll appreciate it and strikes a very winnable race IMO.

5 Xtrarevz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will get better as the distances increase but he is a horse with talent. He resumed over 1400m two weeks back behind Berbere in a front end domination. He got back and was just never a factor. Better for the run, fitter and up in trip, I think he’s an improver and could pinch a first four spot.

This is a good test for 7 Boots Like Bruce (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but the way he’s racing, I think he has earned a crack and this isn’t a deep Stakes race. He won at the track/distance two weeks ago, getting the suck run in transit behind the speed before angling clear and he knuckled down with purpose in the straight to get there. Confident he can measure up.

4 Puli (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to stretch his brilliance to 1200m but he did win the key lead up a fortnight back, the Beaufine. Somewhat lucky given the pattern and what happened to Nerodio, but that said, he was still impressive and this is a similar field re depth.

5 Saloon Bar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Dan Morton trained gelding that resumes. He has been hit and miss throughout his career but he does have talent and as I’ve said, this isn’t a strong Stakes race, plus he has trialled well leading in so I’d watch the market and see what it does.

9 Keep Attacking (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off a win and I think can measure up to Saturday grade. He resumed over 1000m here at the midweeks where he gave them a start and a beating, unleashing a powerful finale late to wear them down and win in super fashion. Fitter and up in trip, kind map, handles wet ground, he’ll do me here.

11 Sentimental Belle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been impressive at the Provincials. Now she needs to do it at metro level. She was a sharp winner at Northam last time where she launched late from the back and rounded them up for an impressive win. Has run well at the track/distance previously and does get Pike to steer.

2 Famous Jurney (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look. He ran three weeks back at this track/distance when tucked in behind the speed and tried his guts out but tired late in the piece. On face value, disappointing, but he did pull up post race with Lacerations, so he had a clear excuse. Prior efforts were good enough to command respect.

2 Berbere (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the straight bat play for mine. Team Williams trained gelding that was an electric winner two weeks ago over 1400m here, leading throughout and he gave his rivals a spanking in a very sharp effort. He was five weeks between runs there so you’d like to think there is room for improvement and I think he’s better with a bunny to chase.

1 Sonoftheboss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Jim Taylor. He was ridden with a sit when resuming a fortnight back over 1200m and the end result was an impressive win. Once upon a time, he was a horse that was ridden with intent and that was it for him but now with an extra string to his bow, he is good and can keep winning.

3 Forever Dreaming (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look. Forget she went around two weeks back here when resuming. Wide no cover throughout and she was never a factor, but given the hard run, there was a clear excuse for her. If she runs up to her form from last prep, she’s good enough to threaten.

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 2 Berbere

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 7 Boots Like Bruce
