Going the way of 1 Extreme Virtue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) in the opener. Team Hayes trained mare that ran three weeks ago at Ballarat over the mile when on speed and tried hard but just weakened late in the piece. Firmer deck, kind map, claim, she only runs well.

6 I Only Wish (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second to Jenni Gone Bonkers at Pakenham. She got off speed and was held up at times but I did like the way she finished her race off when eventually clear. If she gets room to move and wind up, she’ll be hard to hold out.

2 Real Alliance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Luke Oliver and I like her chances here. Too far back at Pakenham two weeks ago but really liked the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Jenni Gone Bonkers. If she can settle closer and be within range to let down, she has the finale to overhaul them.

6 Dark Simba (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be forgiven for his last start at Rosehill. He was intending to settle handy but was tardy away, got shuffled back and in a sit/sprint, he was never really threatening behind Mortal Halo. Clean jump, he’ll settle forward here and run a much improved race.

15 Watersports (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix for Archie Alexander. She ran over 1400m at Sandown last time when third to Stealth Of Night, sitting just off speed and found the line strongly, just failing to get there in a blanket finish. Hard fit, kind map, she’ll be around the mark.

8 Roguery (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been strong in two runs back. He was a real eye catcher fresh at Seymour before going to Caulfield Heath where he bombed the start and that sealed his fate when down the track. Better suited here, kind map, a definite improver.

8 El Tercero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is trained on the track and comes here in form after a dominant win at Moe last time, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. His confidence is up and he is a horse that once he finds form, he does tend to hold it.

13 Grinzinger Pod (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well and is a key chance. She resumed over 1200m at Caulfield Heath when off speed and chased strongly in defeat in a good effort when third to Gundaroo. Fitter, maps ideally, she’s around the mark.

3 Primal Spirit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good racing style, which is suited to Cranbourne. He led throughout at Sandown last start, fighting hard late to fend them off and get the job done. He looks the likely leader and will look a winner for a long way.

1 Guest House (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a good mover for Price/Kent. Home Affairs colt that won a trial at Caulfield Heath, sitting wide throughout but was trucking before being clicked up and moved through his gears nicely to win the trial impressively. Keen to see how he goes against these and whether or not he’s indeed ready for the Gold Coast.

10 Resolutely (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Hellbent that debuts for Team Hayes. She has won both jumpouts at Flemington in readiness for the debut and each time has looked pretty good. Tricky draw but should press forward and be dangerous.

2 Perfect Dismount (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Acrobat colt for Ciaron Maher that is on debut. He has had a couple of jumpouts to get ready for start one and for the most part hasn’t looked too bad. Market will be the guide as to how forward he is.

2 Harry’s Yacht (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming on Ballarat Cup Day and I think you can make a case to say he wins if he gets clear air at the right time. Unfortunately, not much went right for him and it ended up being an ugly watch. Tick over jumpout last week was strong, watch betting.

8 Chergui (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here a few weeks between runs since contesting the Blue Sapphire. He was wide with cover in the run and did try hard but was just fair late in the piece behind Motorsports. Tick over jumpout was good and this looks more suitable IMO. Dangerous.

1 Just For Show (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won this race last year and creates interest. He resumes for Team Hayes, having not raced since Sep 3 at Sandown when down the track behind Eagle Express. He does go well fresh and his jumpout work at Pakenham has been quite good. Watch betting.

3 Millennium Blade (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks promising and should prove hard to beat for Price/Kent after a first up win at Kyneton in a maiden. I am not sure he was 100% happy around the track but once balanced up, class kicked in and he was too good. Can settle on speed and be hard to get past.

2 Impending War (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over this trip at Werribee when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort when third. Fitter, back to his own age, he appeals.

7 The Volta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after a win over 1200m here last start, giving them a start and a beating in producing a strong sustained finale to win and win well. Like him up to 1400m and I think he can measure up against these.

1 Saint George (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be forgiven for his effort in the Ballarat Cup. He was near a genuine speed and that just didn’t suit him, tiring late to finish midfield behind Berkeley Square. I think with a more patient steer, he’ll be far more effective and can bounce back hard.

4 Cadmus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was specked at a big price in the Ballarat Cup three weeks ago and the bets were almost landed. He looked the winner for a stride or two but simply had no answers for Berkeley Square. He’s found positive form, he can go on with it.

2 Bold Soul (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since resuming in the Werribee Cup where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and I thought was far from disgraced in defeat. Tick over jumpout at Bendigo was encouraging and the rise to 2040m is a big tick.

12 Sun Gift (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs for Danny O’Brien since resuming at Caulfield Heath when off speed and kept chasing with purpose when second to a progressive type, Tempranillo. Fitter and up in trip, good upside to come, she’ll do me.

3 Suntora (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a purple patch for Nick Ryan. She has won her past two, the latest at Pakenham when giving them a start and a beating, producing a strong finale to score. Good test here but hard to knock the way she’s racing.

1 Stop The Rock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming on Ballarat Cup Day over the mile. He just found them a bit sharp but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Sneaky Sunrise. Tick over jumpout last week was strong, he’s in the mix.

9 Zouper Fund (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed with a bang at Ballarat three weeks ago, knuckling down with purpose late from speed and surged hard late to win and win well. Got good upside to come and do think the rise to 1200m will be ideal. One of the hardest to beat.

5 Recon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying and commands respect after his win at Pakenham a fortnight back, getting better as the race went on and was strong to the line in winning. He is flying, maps to get a sweet trip again and be around the mark.

1 Meridius (Bet Now:  $SP.00) likely has eyes on the Gold Coast but he does have talent. He He hasn’t raced since October 2024 so has clearly has issues but jump out work has been strong and has class. Watch betting.

10 Madiyya (Bet Now:  $SP.00) clearly takes beating here for Team Hayes after her effort two weeks ago on Pakenham Cup Day. She just had to make too long of a sustained run but was quite good in defeat I thought behind Electric Impulse. Hard fit now, can settle closer…I think she’s one of the better gambles on the card.

1 Opening Address (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since an impressive win at Caulfield, sitting on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Good racing style, he’s found winning form, he can go on with it.

4 New York Hurricane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Liam Howley trained gelding that resumes, He is better suited over further but looks to have jumped out well for the return and is a horse who can spot well fresh so watch the market.
