Race One (3:34pm) : Westspeed Handicap 1650m:
Back Me: Keen on Major Mambo (Best Odds: $2.00). He didn’t have the best of luck late in the piece when a close up fourth over 1400m here a couple of weeks back. Pike on, big upside and meets a thin field.
Big Danger: Express Me (Best Odds: $3.40) resumed over the mile at Northam and was given every chance in front from Jordan Turner, but was nabbed right on the peg. Lead looks hers again, and with the run under the belt now, she should take some beating.
Roughie: Daisy Express (Best Odds: $5.50) is a very consistent maiden type who is never far away from the action. She stuck to the task quite gamely last time out at Northam over the this distance when third to the above average looking Juicy Carrots, beaten just over two lengths. This field doesn’t look strong and she should run well again.

Race Two (4:13pm) : Westspeed Plate 1200m:
Back Me: Military Reign (Best Odds: $1.55) is clearly the horse to beat here. Pike gave the horse a peach in front when resuming and the horse proved far too good for her rivals. She will be up on speed again and Pike sticks with her.
Big Danger: Let It Slip (Best Odds: $8.50) debuted back in April over 1000m at Bunbury and stormed home to just miss out in winning. Recent trial was very good and she looks to have a decent engine under the bonnet.
Roughie: Champagne Charger (Best Odds: $12.00) debuts for the Warwick yard and the filly has looked pretty good at the trials. Takes on a couple of handy fillies here but is on the limit and the stable is low flying.

Race Three (4:53pm) : Tabtouch The Home Of Racing & Sport Handicap (78+) 1600m:
Back Me: If you backed Halo Express (Best Odds: $2.80) last weekend, butter up on him here. He was clearly the unlucky runner, getting badly help up behind tired runners and Pike was not allowed to test him. With better luck here, he should be winning.
Big Danger: Zuccheros (Best Odds: $3.50) was given a Pike special to get the job done narrowly but impressively. Pike sticks with Halo Express, which could be a negative, but Azzopardi takes the ride and he rides the horse very well.
Roughie: The improver could be Rebelson (Best Odds: $17.00). Forget he went around in the Farnley behind Wink And A Nod given he was wide and out the back most of the way. He hasn’t raced in this grade for a while, and he gets in well at the weights after the claim.

Race Four (5:33pm) : Perth Racing Membership Handicap (60+) 1400m:
Back Me: Special Delivery (Best Odds: $2.80) was outstanding in her first up effort, charging home from near last to win impressively. She should take good improvement off that and looms as one of the hardest to beat.
Big Danger: Meteoroid (Best Odds: $3.20) was given a lovely front running ride from Lucy Warwick to win and win in strong style, though the margin was narrow. Lead looks to be there again, especially from gate one and she should take some running down.
Roughie: Vanrippa (Best Odds: $5.50) comes back to the 1400m from the mile last start, where he was totally not suited by the slow tempo when fifth to The Forgotten One. If the speed is more genuine here, he can be a serious threat.

Race Five (6:09pm) : Westspeed Stayers’ Bonus Handicap (66+) 2200m:
Back Me: Verdello Blue (Best Odds: $5.00) is a grand campaigner who has found a new lease of life. Pike has steered the horse at his past two starts, starting off with a narrow third before a much deserved win. Pike is off, which is the query, but this race isn’t strong and he can win again.
Big Danger: Military Service (Best Odds: $7.50) looked a little unlucky when racing over this track/distance a few weeks back, getting badly held up near the inside and not being allowed to build up momentum. He then raced last Saturday over the same trip and proved too good for his rivals, aided by a gem from Steve Parnham, who sticks.
Roughie: Sandpipers (Best Odds: $7.50) steps up in trip after running over the mile last weekend. He was given every chance in front by apprentice Jake Casey, but he couldn’t quite hold out The Forgotten One. Up in distance is the query, but the horse is racing very well, and the two horses mentioned above aren’t exactly trustworthy.

Race Six (6:45pm) : Perth Racing Membership Handicap (66+) 1200m:
Back Me: Regal Commander (Best Odds: $5.50) was given a pearler from Johnson-Porter, charging home from last near the inside to burst through and get the job done impressively. Should take great improvement off that and now Pike gets on.
Big Danger: Classy stayer Tonto (Best Odds: $6.00) resumed over this distance last start and worked home hard from last to just miss out on picking up Our Sister Lil. He should be better as the distances increase, but he has the class and talent to beat these, provided they don’t go hard in front.
Roughie: Shaytarna (Best Odds: $10.00) attempted to lead all the way over this track/distance and looked home but just felt the pinch late when running third in that same race mentioned above. I think the horse is better with something to chase, and that is what should eventuate from the good draw.

Race Seven (7:25pm) : Perth Racing TV Handicap (60+) 1600m:
Back Me: Galaxy Son (Best Odds: $5.50) stepped back in trip to 1400m last start and he closed off very strongly near the inside when third to Military Ruler. Up to the mile will really suit this horse to perfection.
Big Danger: Iluminated (Best Odds: $3.50) resumed over 1400m here and worked to the line with purpose late when fourth, beaten very narrowly. Pike remains on and this horse should have enormous upside.
Roughie: Prentice (Best Odds: $19.00) ran ninth in that race mentioned above, and he wasn’t suited by the slow tempo. He is a stayer, so getting up in trip should be ideal for this horse, and his best form did see him run well in Stakes company during the Melbourne Spring.

Race Eight (8:05pm) : Tabtouch Handicap (60+) 1000m:
Back Me: Tudor Bolt (Best Odds: $3.80) was very disappointing here last time out. He was wide early on, but he eventually slotted in and seemingly had his chance when a battling fourth. Firmer track will be ideal, blinkers on for the first time, and if he can overcome the wide draw, he could blow these away.
Big Danger: Silverstream (Best Odds: $2.80) is the watch horse here. She hasn’t raced since the Carnival last year where she contested a stack of Stakes races and was far from disgraced. Recent Lark Hill trial effort was outstanding and she looks ready to run a beauty first up.
Roughie: Aunty Zelma (Best Odds: $18.00) hasn’t had a great deal of luck at her past two outings. She got held up badly two back and then last start she didn’t handle the wet track. With a firmer surface here, and luck from the wide gate, she can figure in the finish.
