3 Overfull (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a quality mare for Peter Robl that resumes and I think she can resume a winner. She last raced in July at Morphettville when contesting the Lightning and tried hard but on testing ground, she couldn’t pick her feet up late in the piece. Fresh at 1000m on a firmer deck looks ideal and her trial work has been strong.

4 Saratoga Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after a win over 1200m at Mudgee last time, settling just off speed before angling wider for clear air and let down with purpose late to win and win well. He’ll be strong late and gets in well after the claim.

2 Find Your Own (Bet Now:  $SP.00) saves his best for this track/distance and is in with a shout at odds. He last ran over 1110m at Doomben three weeks back when leading and went hard but just as quickly, went backwards and finished tailed off last behind Bossed Up. Hit and miss, but his best is good enough to be a sneaky chance.

5 Prince Levi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came three weeks ago over the mile at Doomben where he got back to near last in the run and made up decent headway without threatening behind Gorbachev. Fitter and up in trip, he has a touch of quality about him to say he’s hard to beat.

10 Sanctuary Storm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing in a purple patch for Team Archibald. Just got there two back at Doomben before being a short priced elect at Ipswich where he was just off speed and launched late but had to settle for a second. He’ll be around the mark against these.

4 El Pensador (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in with a shout. Bit on the plain side two back at Doomben behind Gorbachev before going to Ipswich last Wednesday when well backed late but not much went right for him in a total forgive behind Man Of The Town. His best is good enough so don’t dismiss.

6 Now Is The Hour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat for Tony Gollan. He ran three weeks ago at this trip at Doomben. Just got a fraction held up at the wrong but was clear and tried hard, just finding one better in Ser Joh. Seems to race best on the fresh side and this is a winnable race.

4 Southern Charm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a couple of weeks between runs since racing over 1100m at Ipswich where she got off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort when a close up third to Dream Lantern. 1200m, bigger track, she’ll be strong late and can win.

1 Lovewillcomelater (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since a Highway win at Randwick, finishing best from off speed in a driving go to score. Progressive, heading in the right direction, he commands respect against these.

7 Nails Murphy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous after his third to Yet He Moves two weeks back at Doomben, finishing strongly from just off the speed but just missed. Knocking on the door to win and strikes a winnable race for mine.

1 Zoology (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Hulbert trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Aug 16 over 2000m at Doomben when near the speed and just battled late behind The Right Way, who was flying at the time. Trialled well and fresh at the mile signals intent.

4 Wapiti (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix after racing over the mile two weeks back at Doomben. He got off speed but tracked up nicely and on the turn looked to be some sort of danger but just couldn’t quite see it through. Good upside to come, he’s a knockout hope.

12 Silver Wedding (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since a win over 1350m at Doomben, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display. Her confidence is up and I see 1400m on the bigger track being ideal. Hard to beat.

4 Kodiak (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give his all, like he did at Doomben a fortnight back. He led and gave a good sight from the front but had no answers late for Ready To Schipp. Good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.

5 Hella Fast (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was kept relatively safe in betting two weeks back at Doomben. He got dragged back from the wide gate and although he made up headway, he was never really a factor behind Ready To Schipp. Like him up to 1400m and is dangerous if he can settle closer.

I have to be on 3 Matias (Bet Now:  $SP.00) because if John Dory is indeed the favourite, Matias should be second favourite, and a close second favourite, given how close they were at Canterbury. Matias went to Newcastle and yes, the margin was narrow, but the win was impressive given the race shape was totally against him. He’ll love 1800m at Eagle Farm, will be one of the strongest late…only runs well.

2 John Dory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looked all over the winner of the City To Surf two weeks ago and the market support was sustained throughout. He hit the front, kicked, looked home, but was nabbed on the peg by Nightline. Rising to 1800m suits and I think with a more patient steer, he’ll be more effective I say.

10 Sevilo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing two weeks back in the City To Surf. He got off speed and tried hard but just lacked the polish to go with them late in the piece. He is an astute camp of Paul Shailer and up in distance, I think he’s an improver at odds.

1 Grafterburners (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned really well for Kelly Schweida and is a key threat after his win two weeks ago in the Pierata Plate, knuckling down with purpose late to get there on the peg in a driving go. Hard fit, has versatility re racing pattern, he commands respect.

2 Damien (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the key threat. He ran second to Grafterburners in the Pierata, looming large from on speed and was hailed as the winner but got nabbed on the peg. Good upside to come, I think he’s right in the mix.

8 Spanish Treasure (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one I am wary of. Tony Gollan trained three year old that resumes after a promising juvenile season where he placed each time without winning. I think he’ll land just off speed and should be effective late. Knockout hope.

6 Accredited (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Joe Pride trained gelding that is three weeks between runs since contesting the Festival, a trial for The Ingham. He sat on speed and tried hard but the end of 1500m just found him out behind Yorkshire. That form looks to be A1 and back to 1300m is a big tick.

3 Oughton (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks as though he’ll be fine at 1300m here. He ran over 1350m a few weeks ago in the Recognition where he was out wide when looming but wanted to lay in and somewhat threw away any chance he had of winning. If he does everything right, I am convinced he is going well enough to win.

7 Boom Torque…(Bet Now:  $SP.00) is there signs of life? He looked cast for a while there but I didn’t mind his effort two weeks back in the George Moore when resuming, getting back off the moderate speed and was good late without threatening behind Caballus. Fitter and up in trip, more genuine tempo, he can win.

4 Yet He Moves (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Chris Waller and has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat. Loved the way he knuckled down to win at Doomben two weeks ago. The race was there for the taking and he wanted it most in a driving go. Hard to knock the way he’s racing, he takes beating.

1 Manzoice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) might need more racing but I thought his effort in the ATC Cup was solid enough for this and is a threat for sure. He got back in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good late. He has good upside to come and is a proven performer in Brisbane.

8 Felix The Scat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy horse when right and should be better for the first up run over the mile at Doomben three weeks ago when back near last in the run and was solid late without threatening behind Gorbachev. Fitter, bigger track, I say he takes beating.

5 John Rambo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat after his return three weeks ago at Doomben behind Bossed Up. He just found them a bit sharp but kept finding the line and was a definite pass mark. Fitter, up in trip, bigger track, he appeals.

10 Dream Smart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Doomben where she got into a reasonable spot in transit and presented to win, looking a likely winner, but had no answers late for Balance The Books. Racing well and a tick over trial last week was strong.

8 Supperalloy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is better suited here vs the George Moore from two weeks back. He just found them a bit too sharp and was never a factor behind Caballus. This looks more within his reach and can run a much improved race at odds.
