4 Unusual Pearl (Bet Now: $1.60) is the most progressive of this lot and off a strong last start win, she’s the way I am going. Team McEvoy mare that let down with purpose to win over 2400m at Sandown last time, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. The extra 100m should be no issue, she’s on the up…takes beating here.

1 Border Leicester (Bet Now: $5.00) is in ripping form for Team Browne and commands respect. He has won his past two, firstly at Stony Creek before proving that was no fluke with a strong display over 3000m at Sandown. I think with that, he’ll make sure this is a 2500m contest and not a sit/sprint. Hard to get past.

2 Mr Blackwood (Bet Now: $12.00) will love the drop in depth/grade. He has been racing at Saturday metro level his past few and for the most part has been outclassed but he has been far from disgraced. He won’t know himself back in a 70 and his best is more than good enough to take this out.

3 Mr Marrakech (Bet Now: $4.20) is the way I am leaning. Moody/Coleman trained gelding that resumes after a plain debut at Echuca in September when on speed and failed to fire in the straight, finishing down the track. He’s been strong in two jumpouts to get ready for the return and with an on speed pattern, that will be ideal for this track.

2 King Of Wessex (Bet Now: $6.00) creates interest. He is a Saxon Warrior gelding for Griffiths/De Kock that is on debut and comes here with two Cranbourne jumpouts under the belt, the latest seeing him run third and when pushed out, he responded well enough. Maps to do no work, Blinkers first time…leading contender.

6 Unriddle (Bet Now: $7.00) is a son of Encryption for Team Hayes that is on debut. This guy has been solid in trial/jumpout work, trialling up at Tatura and seemingly moved nicely when placing. Stable can get them ready for the debut so I think watch the market and see what it does with him.

10 Belle Inferno (Bet Now: $4.40) will love the rise in trip for Ciaron Maher and IMO is one of the better bets on the program. This girl was an eye catcher on debut at Flemington on Rapid Racing Day before having a few weeks off and racing at Sandown over 1300m where she got back to near last in the run but worked home with real purpose. Love her up in trip and with a more positive steer, I think good luck beating her.

5 Ceremonius (Bet Now: $1.90) is a coming maiden winner. Chris Waller trained gelding that has been strong in two career outings He bumped into Acid Wash on debut at Cranbourne before going to Geelong when near the speed and presented to win but just failed to get there when second to Vilnius. Tricky gate but D Lane aboard, can press forward, leading chance.

6 Inexessive (Bet Now: $10.00) would be a moral if they found a maiden in the country. He comes to town again after racing at Sandown where he was near the speed throughout and seemingly had his chance but was still good in defeat when third to Yahoo Bar. Third up, so should be hard fit…not sure he wins but a must for multiples.

4 Tosen Warrior (Bet Now: $4.20) is the value I say. He was a strong maiden winner at Cranbourne last time where he looked gone in the straight but he found under pressure to fend them off and win, beating Moon Lightning, who came out and won well on Tuesday, so the form reads well, and he’s tough. Definite winning hope.

2 Genrichero (Bet Now: $1.80) has a bit to learn still but I do think he has an engine under the hood. Both career outings have come on the home track, the latest being a strong win from off the speed over 1500m, suggesting an extra 100m here will be no issue and with the race thinned right out after scratchings, he clearly appeals.

8 Haather (Bet Now: $13.00) is a knockout hope for Carly Cook. He brings okay country form, his latest run being at Benalla over 1400m when back near last in the run and making up good ground without threatening. He is a seasoned campaigner and will be dangerous if within range on the turn.

4 Flamin’ Romans (Bet Now: $4.20) should take beating for Ciaron Maher. He ran over 1700m at Geelong a few weeks ago where he was on speed throughout, which was the spot to be, but he was up in grade and he ran a very honest race in defeat when third to all the way winner Regal Zeus. Maps perfect, bred to eat up 2040m…happy to be in his corner.

6 Musgrave (Bet Now: $6.50) is knocking on the door to win. Stablemate of Flamin’ Romans that did too much work at Sandown last time over 2400m, just feeling the pinch late in the piece behind Unusual Pearl. Back in trip I like, he gets Visors on and a big tick is M Zahra. He can bounce back.

5 Lukan (Bet Now: $13.00) rises a fair bit in grade/depth but is a horse heading in the right direction for Price/Kent. He was solid on testing ground at Geelong on debut before going to Sale where he found firmer footing and got the job done narrowly but did it well enough. He’ll love the rise to 2040m and despite a tricky gate, he’s a knockout hope.

6 Pivot City (Bet Now: $1.55) has a bit on these if he’s ready to go and the jumpout work suggests he’s here for a kill. He had a two run prep when last in work, winning like a really nice horse on debut at Bendigo before finishing down the track at Flemington in the Poseidon, pulling up lame. Hopefully the track isn’t a road and has cushion because his jumpout work has been electric and he’s just better than these IMO.

2 Austmarr (Bet Now: $4.50) is a proven metro performer who comes back in grade/depth after resuming down the straight at Flemington where she was far from disgraced in defeat after getting back in the run, closing off well when fourth to Power Ballard. Best is good enough to be dangerous so watch the market.

8 Zouthur (Bet Now: $15.00) is knocking on the door to win for Ciaron Maher. He ran over 1000m at Cranbourne last time out under the lights where he was run off his legs and got a fair way out of his ground but balanced up and rocketed late when second to Kaido. He is hard fit, racing well, can settle closer…he’s the threat if the fav is off his game.

9 Satin And Silk (Bet Now: $2.60) will jump on the bunny, lead and prove hard to get past. Sustained speed came to the fore when winning over 1000m at Gosford last time, leading throughout and giving nothing else a look in. B Shinn, good gate, should find the front and prove hard to get past I’d suggest.

2 Moon And Back (Bet Now: $6.00) will be charging late. Just depends where she gets to in the run and how much start she concedes. She was a dominant winner two back at this track/distance before going to 1000m where she got back but worked home with real purpose when fourth. If the breaks go her way, she can win.

8 My Ruby (Bet Now: $10.00) is a Francis/Kent trained mare that is absolutely flying and deserves a crack here. She is 2/2 this time in, winning fresh over 1000m at Morphettville Parks before going to Murray Bridge where she gave them a start and a beating, launching late to finish over the top. If she can overcome the tricky gate, she’s dangerous at odds.

8 Movader (Bet Now: $5.50) will do me in the get out. Ciaron Maher trained mare that resumed over 1200m at Pakenham under the lights where she got a fair way out of her ground and spotted those in front too much head start but I did like the way she found the line late in the piece behind Tiffany Valentine. Zahra on, can settle much closer in the run and be effective at the end.

2 Graysong (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Price/Kent trained son of I Am Invincible that resumes. He did a really good job when last in work, proving himself to be a Synthetic specialist and while he didn’t win on the turf, he ran well. Bar Plates are off, suggesting he’s flying, and his jumpout work indicates that. Watch the market.

Back to 1200m I find interesting with 5 Explosive Thinker (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who ran over 1400m at Flemington last time and did too much wrong, finishing down the track behind Vagrant. Host of gear tinkering to try and help him out and if he runs up to the first up win, he can threaten in a race like this.
