17/1/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Murray Bridge

Ten races have been set down for Murray Bridge this Saturday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

8 Zouwin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Zousain filly on debut for Bain/Taylor. This girl has looked the part at the jumpouts, winning 2/2 and each time going about her business quite nicely. Should press forward and she has struck a winnable race here for mine.

4 Nevawasanangel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of All Too Hard for Peter Hardacre that debuts. She has had three jumpouts to get ready for start one, so the grounding has been well and truly there for the debut and each piece of work has been strong. Watch betting.

2 Farnace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Farnan that is on debut for Andrew Gluyas. This filly trialled last week at Gawler and I thought moved pretty well late in the piece when fourth, beaten just over three lengths. Bred to be handy so watch betting.

5 Angel Torque (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the winner. I think should have won at Gawler two weeks ago but Santastico, who was the leader, wanted to hang out under pressure and took Angel Torque with him. I think if she got a clear straight line to let down, she wins instead of being bloused late. Flying this girl and confident she bounces back.

1 Dancing Storm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran behind The Stalker five weeks ago at Gawler. He got off speed, but four wide, and the hard run told late in the piece, tiring to finish down the track. Has a good record at Murray Bridge and with a better run in transit, can take this out.

4 The Stalker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a five week freshen up since winning at Gawler, leading throughout and yes, the pattern was in his corner, but he took advantage and he was strong to the line. Good racing style, he’ll give a sight.

9 Torpedoes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been solid in two career runs and up to 1400m, I say he’s one of the hardest to beat after a solid runner up effort three weeks ago at Morphettville when leading and giving a solid account of himself but had no answers late for impressive winner Yellowjacket. 1400m should be fine, good racing style, he appeals.

10 Belongtojill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was big odds when resuming at Gawler a fortnight back in a maiden. She got off speed and was held up at times before getting clear and drove hard late, just missing out on the win when second to Act Natural. Good upside to come, she commands respect.

11 Torrita (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up by Stuart Padman, being five weeks between runs since racing over 1500m at Gawler. She was wide no cover and fought on bravely in defeat behind Smother. Better run in transit this time around, she’s dangerous.

7 Act Of Treachery (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1100m after racing over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on Boxing Day. She did early work to land on speed and did try hard but had to settle for a second to Breakfast. 1100m should be fine, good racing style, in the mix for sure.

2 Light The Night (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at Morphettville when taking on the older horses and was good late in the piece behind Thunder Shoc. Fast run 1100m, he’ll sit off speed and launch late.

8 Miss Tormenta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was kept quite safe in betting when resuming two weeks back at Gawler, taking on the older horses and was far from disgraced I thought behind impressive winner Arabella Star. Fitter, back to her own age, she’s a definite improver.

I think if Isaac Sit knew how to whip in both hands, 3 Prince Jofra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) wins two weeks ago at Gawler instead of fourth. He looked the winner at the top of the straight but wanted to lay in under pressure and Sit couldn’t/didn’t pull the whip to straighten him up and couldn’t really ride out properly. He’s back on track this horse and takes beating.

2 Snoopy Now (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over the mile here. The race was run at a crawl and the race shape was clearly against him but he kept chasing and was quite good in defeat. Like him up in trip and does strike a winnable race.

4 Yuri Royale (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran midfield two weeks back at Gawler. He got back off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort but was never really threatening behind Magnetic Edge. Not sure he is a horse I could back to win but can run first four.

4 Headphones (Bet Now:  $SP.00) loves the Murray Bridge 1400m and is hard to beat. If she runs straight, I reckon she wins two back here when third to Teardrop Rotation. She then went to Gawler when ridden with intent near the speed over 1500m but I don’t think she ran the trip out. Back to where she races best, I think she’s in the mix.

5 The Sprinkler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is getting towards peak fitness. She ran third to Tapinforpar a fortnight back at Gawler, settling off speed and although was one of the first off the bit, she kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Hard fit, he is in the mix.

2 Texan Windstorm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1200m at Morphettville. He tried hard but still relatively early on in the prep, he just needed the run. Getting towards peak fitness and 1400m, he’s dangerous here.

6 Outpost (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is nine years of age but is racing as well as ever it would seem. He ran third two weeks ago at Gawler, getting the suck run in behind before getting clear air and drove hard late when third to Percidian. Racing in really good form and strikes a winnable race I say.

9 Major Rumble (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a slight query at 1200m but he does have the talent to be dangerous. He ran two weeks back at Gawler where he got a suck run in transit behind the speed and was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there. Talent wise, he’s nearly top seed. Just not sold on him at 1100m.

11 All Shot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat after resuming over this track/distance on New Years Day. He got back to near last in the run and was a real eye catcher late in the piece when third to She’s Tenacious. If he can settle closer and be within range, he can take this out.

5 Tripod Terror (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will likely spot them a start but launch late. He ran two weeks back at Gawler where he got a fair way out his ground but did make up headway and was pretty good late. If within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.

2 Sir Leapalot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to metro level after a win at the midweeks at Strathalbyn last start, sitting wide with cover and finished best after getting clear air. Good test here, but think he can run well at a price against these.

4 Gin Rummy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Alexander Justice trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Sep 13 over 1800m at Morphettville when good in defeat behind Anthracite. Better suited over further but has trialled well and will be strong late.

10 Press Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win for the Francis/Kent camp. She ran two weeks ago at Gawler when on speed and she tried her guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through when nabbed late by Truly Elsa. I think with a more patient steer, a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.

5 Startide (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well for Karen Byrnes and commands respect. Game effort two back in the Viddora Final before going to Murray Bridge when off speed and chased with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Angel Torque. In really good form at the moment and should be around the mark.

12 Misludi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one I can entertain for multiples. She comes through the Truly Elsa race from two weeks back at Gawler. She had a suck run in behind the speed but when clear, she just whacked and thought she had her chance. She can win, but for me, she is a first four threat.

9 Royal Fox (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Jess Tzaferis, I am convinced of that. Ran over 1400m here on New Years Day…and gee it was a negative ride. Just spotted them way too much head start and only got very warm late in the piece. Convinced he’s racing super and with a half decent steer, he’ll only run well.

8 Hysterical Lady (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a couple of runs at 1400m/1500m and I do think she will appreciate getting to the mile. Latest run was over 1500m at Gawler a fortnight back. She got into a decent spot in transit just off speed and held up at times but was quite good late when clear when second to Conni Island. Like her up to the mile, she commands respect.

2 Lucas The Younger (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix for Jason Cannon. 10 years of age but is still maintaining a healthy zest for racing. Put together a couple of wins over 1800m at Murray Bridge before going back to the mile there several weeks back and tried his guts out but just found one better in Extinguish. Racing well and is a definite threat.
