15/12/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Sandown

9 Endlessly (Bet Now: $2.60) on top in the opener. This girl was 1300m back to 1200m at the Valley last time when on speed and she tried hard, but couldn’t quite finish the job when a narrow second to Victory Bay. Back up to 1300m and hard fit, I think she’ll take beating here.

2 Lucky Decision (Bet Now: $5.00) is a Peter Moody trained three year old that resumes and returns to racing as a gelding. Hasn’t raced since his debut at Caulfield back in April when beating one home behind Hunnam. Gelded and albeit has had one soft jumpout to get ready, watch the market.

4 Ocean Raider (Bet Now: $26.00) is a son of Ocean Park for the Griffiths/De Kock camp that is on debut. This three year old has had a number of jumpouts/trials across a couple of preps to get ready for start one. Hasn’t set the world on fire as such but this stable always fire during the Summer months, so he’s one for multiples.

6 Oughton (Bet Now: $8.50) should appreciate the rise to 1400m. Team Hawkes trained colt that debuted over 1100m at Geelong. He wasn’t helped by the track pattern but really liked the way he finished his race off behind Swerving. Fitter, up to 1400m, he’s around double figures and is the bet here.

7 Port Louis (Bet Now: $1.26) should be winning on form…but he’s a thinker and is costly from a punters perspective, so I can’t have him on top. Was there to win two back at Flemington but turned it up. Then went to the Sandown Guineas and was terrible. $1.30/thereabouts opening price is probably justified given the races he has contested, but performances…no way. Way too short. I think he’ll drift.

10 The Cassini (Bet Now: $17.00) is an honest conveyance who should be thereabouts. Near the speed at the Bool on Jericho Cup Day and battled on okay when third to Royal Fox, who has run well in town since. I can see him finishing top four, but I doubt he’s good enough to win.

8 Defiant Diva (Bet Now: $3.50) has such an awful racing pattern, but no denying she has a decent engine under the hood. Ran over 1400m here around a month ago on the Lakeside track and worked home quite powerfully from off the speed when third to Starlight Scope. If she can sit closer in the run, I think she wins.

7 Love Takes Time (Bet Now: $3.40) gets the Tongue Tie on first time, so I suspect that was the reason for her failure last time out. First up run was super so hard fit now and up to the mile, I think she deserves another chance. Fascinating to see what the market does with her given she was such an alarming drift last start.

Fitter and up in trip should suit 4 Notmyfirstrodeo (Bet Now: $61.00). Resumed over 1300m on the Lakeside track where he paraded like he would need the run and that is how it panned out behind Pal D’Oro. Might want one more, but is capable in a race where there are a few question marks.

9 Viviane (Bet Now: $1.95) looks extremely hard to beat. This filly was such an impressive winner of her maiden last time out at Bendigo and despite getting held up for a stride or two, she charged late to get the win. J Kah on from a good draw, hard fit, she’ll take beating here I suggest.

1 Rock Artist (Bet Now: $6.50) is a Team Keys trained three year old that resumes. 2/2 to start last prep, including a win at The Valley before being tried over further and failing to fire. He looks a sprinter and despite carrying 61kg first up, he does bring quite a class edge. Market will tell you if he’s ready.

7 Spirit Of Pepin (Bet Now: $7.00) looks a progressive gelding for the Griffiths/De Kock camp that comes to town off the back of a maiden win at the Bool. Peach steer by Kelly and the three year old repaid with a dominant finale. Gets a suck run from the draw and is a definite first four contender.

If the run last time hasn’t busted 3 Mariamia (Bet Now: $3.20), she wins. Smashed the clock when spanking them at The Valley two back. Then went to Pakenham when outside a hot speed and just felt the pinch late when third to Under My Spell. Should find the front here and with a cheap furlong or two in front, she has the A1 form.

2 Intellective (Bet Now: $7.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Oaks Day at Flemington where she was far from disgraced in defeat in the Inglis Bracelet behind Foxy Frida. She is a mare who seems to race quite well on the fresh side and with the claim, she gets in nicely.

4 Bella Tiara (Bet Now: $6.00) is in an identical boat to Intellective. Stablemate that last raced in the same event where she had the suck run behind the speed and just couldn’t dash when required, somewhat outclassed late. Good record at the track and Yendall does get on well with her.

2 Pal D’Oro (Bet Now: $4.00) looks to have come back a better horse for the Maher/Eustace camp. Resumed over 1300m on the Lakeside track where he was on speed but was absolutely trucking. Just a matter of pushing the button and away he went, dashing clear late. Suck run from the draw and I don’t think the 61kg will stop him.

14 Killarney Kiss (Bet Now: $13.00) is a daughter of Tavistock for Peter Moody that resumes. This girl had a three run prep in the Winter to start her career, winning start two at Cranbourne before a down the track effort at Moe. Looks to have jumped out well leading in. Watch the market.

12 Obi (Bet Now: $9.00) is a consistent animal but his problem is that he’s not winning. Resumed over 1200m on the Lakeside track where he was off the speed and chased strongly, but couldn’t bridge the gap on dominant winner Kentucky Casanova, who ran well at Flemington on the weekend. That reads well for this.

Back to 64 grade is the big tick for 3 Kamien (Bet Now: $21.00). Peter Gelagotis trained gelding that ran over 1400m at Ballarat in an 84 last time and he was far from disgraced in defeat behind a very good progressive mare in Lighthouse. Back miles in grade/depth, he’s the one for me.

10 Night Passage (Bet Now: $5.00) is racing well for the McEvoy camp. Market wanted to be with her last time out at Ballarat and given the race shape, I thought she did a really good job in defeat behind Typhoon Harmony in what was a brutally run race. She was near the speed and kicked on okay. If that hasn’t busted her, she’ll take beating.

Michael Moroney had a couple accepted here but goes with a sole rep in 14 Wisaka (Bet Now: $8.50). Hasn’t raced since June 2 over 2400m here when beaten a lip by a handy stayer in Chaska. 2000m+ is when he’ll come into his own, but didn’t mind a recent jumpout and should do no work from the draw.

14 Inari (Bet Now: $10.00) is a progressive mare for Matt Cumani that can win again. Strong late on debut at the Bool behind subsequent Sandown Guineas winner Blue Army. Then went to a Geelong maiden where the margin was only narrow but she won with a fair amount of class. Off that, she can measure up here.

1 Convict Sam (Bet Now: $3.90) looks to have returned in excellent order for Archie Alexander. Far from disgraced fresh at Bendigo behind stablemate Saccharo. Then went to Sandown where he sat back in the run but came with a well timed run late to nab them near the peg in an impressive display. Commands respect.

8 Abreed (Bet Now: $16.00) has really gone off the boil since early on his career, but Andrew Noblet keeps persisting with him so he must be showing something at home. Ran in the Convict Sam race mentioned above when getting the suck run behind the speed and battled away okay. First four contender on current form. Wins comfortably if he brings his best.

BEST BET: Race Six Number 2 Pal D’Oro

NEXT BEST: Race Four Number 9 Viviane

LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 6 Oughton
